Ryan thumped his chest, looking generous. "That's right. It's your birthday today, so I'm paying. Buy whatever you want."

Someone chimed in. "Since Mr. Shaw has said so, we'd better grab the most expensive item."

Ryan was unfazed. "Go ahead. Do you think I'm counting pennies?"

The group made their way inside, being loud and rowdy. "You're so generous, Mr. Shaw. As long as we're with you, we're eating like kings."

The commotion caught Samantha's attention from way over there, and her first instinct was to quickly distance herself from Leonardo. "Ryan is here. He probably doesn't know about our relationship yet, so we can't let him find out."

The agreement was clear. No one else was supposed to know about this except them.

Their relationship was best kept secret. The acting part was the only time it was out in the open.

Samantha figured this was her safety net. After all, she went from being single to getting married. If they divorced after one year, she had to go on living normally.

Leonardo protested, "Since Yvette already knows about it, how could Ryan not know?"

He hobbled over to Samantha. His leg had almost healed, and he could run surprisingly fast without crutches. "What are you doing here? Are you shopping as well?"

Samantha nodded.

Ryan asked, "But you need a membership to enter the grocery store. Did you sign up too?"

He fixed his curious gaze on Samantha. After all, the grocery store had pretty strict membership requirements.
