Chapter 27: Dominic’s roses

 "Hey, Athy!"

"Hey, Athena!"

Suzanne and Patricia greeted her at the same time as soon as they saw her.

They both were in the garden, plucking flowers from there.

Athena walked toward them after noticing them.

"Hey, Suzy.Hey, Patricia.How are you both doing?" Athena asked in a low tone as she picked u p a yellow rose from the basket where the girls just put the fļowers.

"We are good but what’s wrong with you?" Suzanne asked with a frown as she noticed a small frown on Athena’s face.

"Yeah, what’s wrong? You look worried about something.Your mood seems a little down as well." Patricia added after Suzanne with a small frown as well.

"Well, I will let you guys guess and give you guys a hint." Athena said with an annoyed look on her face.

Suzanne and Patricia looked at each other in confusion before looking back at Athena.

"The black cat came to my way twice today."

Just after Athena completed her sentence, realisation immediately drew upon on their faces.

"Stacey!"

"That too twice!"

"What bad luck!"

"I pity you."

Suzanne and Patricia said one after another with pitiful looks on their faces.

Athena looked at them with a frown before putting the rose back on the basket.

"Whatever, what are you guys doing?"

Athena asked as she saw around ten baskets filled with various roses.

But surprisingly there wasn’t one red rose on those baskets.

She looked around to find a section of the garden filled with red roses.

Immediately a smile came to her face seeing that.

She loved red roses.

They are so beautiful and fascinating that she gets lost whenever she sees a red rose.

And here was a full garden filled with red roses.

She couldn’t stop herself from going there.

"Stacey wants her party to be decorated with real flowers, not any artificial flowers.And she wants them to be specifically from Dominic‘s garden." Patricia explained.

"That’s why we are plucking flowers from here for decoration." Suzanne added after her.

They both were concentrating on plucking the flowers carefully and delicately.

They didn‘t want the flowers to lose petals nor they want to get hurt but the thorns of the roses.So they didn’t realise where Athena was going.

"But why aren’t there any red roses?"

Athena asked as she sat down near the red rose section carefully.She slowly ran her hands over the flowers in fascination.

"Well, Dominic doesn’t want Stacey to use red roses.Anything but that.Well, he doesn’t want anyone to touch his red ros-..."

"Ahhh!"

Patricia could hardly complete her sentence when they heard Athena’s voice hissing out.

They stopped what they were doing and looked at her with widened eyes.

They were shocked would be an understatement when they saw a rose in her one hand and her one finger was bleeding badly.

She just pricked her finger while plucking a RED rose from Dominic’s garden!

 "Oh my god, Athena! What did you do?" Patricia exclaimed in shock.

Athena put her injured finger in her mouth before looking at them with a frown..
