As the first light of dawn crept over the horizon, Casper made his way to the thirteenth floor, breakfast tray in hand.

Brian was already stationed at the door, effectively blocking his path. “Morning, Mr. Casper. Is there something I can help you with?”

“I’m here to see Ms. Eliza. Is she in?”

Brian hesitated, “Well, Ms. Eliza isn’t feeling too well and is resting at the moment. Maybe...” His eyes landed on the breakfast tray, “...you could leave the breakfast with me, and I’ll make sure she gets it.”

“I’d prefer to see her myself,” Casper insisted, trying to step forward.

Before he could, Brian quickly tapped the buzzer, barring Casper’s entrance. “Mr. Casper, Ms. Eliza specifically mentioned you can’t come in.”

Casper felt a wave of frustration but knew better than to push his luck.

“Alright, if I can’t go in, just make sure she gets this,” he said, placing the breakfast on a nearby table. “Tell her not to overdo it.”

With tension still lingering, Casper turned and made his way back to the CEO’s office, his mood clearly soured. He sat at his desk, stewing over the encounter.

A short while later, Dillon entered with a stack of documents. “Mr. Casper, Allysha’s agent reached out. They’re keen to chat about an endorsement deal.”

“Handle it without me,” Casper snapped, yanking at his tie, irritation evident on his face.

Dillon sensed something was amiss. Had there been another spat with Eliza?

“Mr. Casper, I planned to assign this to the team, but Allysha’s agent is hoping for your personal touch. Despite Welton International's solid reputation, since it's a new project, they’re looking for reassurance…”

Casper didn’t reply, instead pulling a cigarette from his pack and placing it between his lips. Dillon quickly flicked his lighter, lighting the cigarette for him. “Rough day?” he asked gently.

Casper took a long drag, the smoke curling around his features. He remained silent, lighting one cigarette after another.
