Evening rolled in.

Eliza wasn’t heading home.

She was crashing at the office again.

Casper waited at home, but by the time the clock ticked close to midnight, he couldn't sit still any longer. He hopped into his car and drove over to Welton International.

Sure enough, the lights on the thirteenth floor were still blazing.

After parking, he took the elevator up to the thirteenth floor.

The security system was still in place, blocking his entry.

Standing at the door, he called Eliza, “Hey?”

“Is something wrong?” Eliza, fresh out of a shower and feeling pretty beat, was just about to call it a night. “Can it wait until tomorrow?”

“Open the door, I’m right outside your office.” His voice was a bit rough, carrying a humble edge. “I just want to see you.”

“I’m about to sleep.” Her words were laced with a touch of rejection.

“Then I’ll wait till you wake up.” His voice had a note of determination.

She sighed, her response tinged with reluctance, “I’m really tired.”

“Then I’ll be here, waiting, until you’re ready to see me.”

His voice was calm and respectful, without a hint of annoyance.

But it made Eliza feel pressured.

She squeezed her phone tightly, her emotions swirling.

After a moment's hesitation, she slipped on a light coat and slowly walked to the door.

Their eyes met briefly as she looked up, but Eliza quickly glanced away. With a twist of her fingers, the door unlocked, and she stepped out. “Visitors aren’t allowed at the company, you should head back.”

“Without you, what’s the point of going back to that house?” He stepped closer, wrapping her gently in his arms. “I’m sorry. I didn’t handle my temper well, and my attitude was off. I'm working on it. Please don’t stay mad at me, okay?”

Eliza knew that in any relationship, arguments were inevitable.
