It was 8 pm when someone knocked on my door.
"Come in." I hadn't looked up. This job was harder then I thought. I was constantly having to make sure that everything was flowing subtly and whatever the people in the different financial departments couldn't handle I had to. I had a very small amount of time to figure this shit out. This wasn't where my qualifications stood. Of course, I was inclined in certain financial departments but this was far too advanced for me.
"Oh, you are beautiful. I thought Ryder was just over exaggerating again, but damn I wish I would've found you first." A tall brunette strutted in, her hair was pulled up into a bun and she wore a velvet red skirt, a black dress shirt, and a black pair of heels.
"Uh, thank you?" I tilted my head. Her skin was smooth and a really light olive color like Ryder's.
"I'm Luca Byson." She reached her hand out. I shook it before sitting back down.
"Are you Ryder's step-sister?" I asked.
"No, darling. That runt was Mila, Ryder's assistant. I unlike her is his blood sister the first offspring of Mercury and Gaia." She flaunted proudly. I smiled but couldn't help but notice that accent, Ryder, her, and their parents had it as well.
"Where are you guys from?" I asked.
"Milan Italy." She smiled.
"That explains it." I nodded.
"Um, the family wants to meet you." She smiled.
"But Ryder and I just started dating," I began.
"He's been speaking high and mighty about you. Don't let it beat you up though, we just want to see you. We may expect you to marry Ryder and become the second face of the company but no pressure." She smiled. My eyes widened. I was waiting for the 'I'm kidding... lol. ShOuLd'Ve SeEn YoUr FaCe.' But it didn't come.
The door opened and in stormed around 8 people one of those faces scared me.
One of them was my ex Tyler.
He noticed me as well but shook his head a vote to ignore the fact that we had a fling.
I nodded and smiled at everyone else.
"Good evening." I shook everyone's hand.
"Now that I've seen you look professional dear I really have to say, you're gorgeous." His mother Gaia ran her hand over my cheek.
"Thank you." I smiled.
"Gosh look at your body. You have the curves every woman wants." Another woman said. I smiled.
"Thank you."
She spun me around.
Ryder walked in and frowned.
"The office is big for a reason. Disperse." He demanded. I sat back down and looked at the computer as he stood beside me.
"I'm sorry darling I just have to ask, where are your parents from?" The same girl asked.
"Mexico." I said.
"You're so pale, I never would've guessed, explains the body shape though." His mother smiled.
"My dad was an albino." I whispered.
"Was?"
"MOM STOP PRYING!" Ryder yelled.
"It's fine. He's dead." I continued typing on the computer. Everyone gasped but I didn't respond.
"Is your mom still alive?" A male asked this time. I gripped the mouse harder.
"I- I don't know." I cleared my throat.
"What do you mean you don't know?" Someone else asked.
My body began to tremble but no one noticed. Well, no one except Ryder.
"Y'all really don't have any boundaries." He growled.
"What do you mean son we just wanted to know more about her." His mother said. If I spoke I knew I might cry. The topic was very sensitive to me.
"Look at her? Does she look comfortable to you? You're asking her questions and not paying attention. From the moment she told you all about her dad that should've been enough with the questions." Ryder's voice was just above a whisper.
"I'm gonna go to the washroom." I whispered taking long strides towards the door.
***Ryder's POV***
"Un-fucking-believable." I groaned.
