I brushed my hair and twisted it back into a simple updo, leaving a few strands to frame my face. I added some basic accessories like a few rings and a watch as well as some gold hoop earrings.
Looking in the mirror, I looked good, though I did have to pause at the vanity table to put on some concealer. The shadows under my eyes spoke of the rough couple night I have been having and I didn't want that to show.
Nevertheless, I made sure I was standing outside the pack house next to a smartly dressed Keiran just as a sleek black car rolled in and stopped at the end of the driveway. I made sure I stood right at the front to welcome them first.
The driver stepped out and opened the door, reavealing three stunning women who sauntered out to greet me.
The one at the front reached out to press a kiss to each of my cheeks and I returned the gesture as she introduced herself.
"I am Seraphine, head witch and coven leader of the Crescent Sisters," She gave me a blinding smile that made her mismatched eyes shine. She gestured to the taller woman on her left. "That's Lilith, our head healer," The woman in question quirked her brow at me, her bright purple eyes seemingly penetrating my soul.
"And this is Medea, our war strategist and analyst," The afore mentioned woman looked nothing like I'd assume a war specialist to look like. She was short, around 5'2 and had a soft feminine figure and a bright and sweet smile.
"I am Artemis, Spirit Wolf and Luna of the Phantom Pack. We appreciate you all coming down here during these stressful times,"
"Of course. We wouldn't pass up this opportunity to make a historical allegiance," She offered me a small diplomatic smile which I returned. I led the way up the driveway so that I could introduce her to Kieran and the rest of the pack officials.
"Would you like to freshen up before we begin the meeting?" I asked politely.
"No, it's best to get the heavy topics out the way first," Seraphine suggested, everyone else agreeing with her.
We all quickly settled in the meeting room, the maids bringing water and refreshments. I was very eager and antsy to begin.
"So you've been having problems with these attacks?" The head witch began.
"Handling them has been easy, the only problem we have is figuring out who they are and why they're attacking us," Kieran spoke up.
"And you think they are possessed wolves?" This time I answered.
"Yes. Their body is much weaker than a normal wolf and their eyes are a soulless black. They smell of death and decay and seemingly appear out of nowhere,"
"That does sound like a witch possession. But why would a witch do that? Do you have any enemies?" Medea asked, dark eyes curious and her lips in a small pout.
"We don't have any real enemies. No one we know would pull an attack of this magnitude," Vaughn replied.
"Which brings me to my point," I interjected. They all looked at me, my pack not expecting my next words. "I think the witch doing these possessions is either working with someone else or is being forced to do it against her will," They all looked perplexed by my suggestion.
"So now what do we do?" Vaughn asked, rubbing a hand down his face.
"Try and capture the humans during the next attack?" I suggested, though I looked towards the witches for their input. It was obvious we were out of our element and needed them on our side.
"And we can try track the witch. We can get a read of the magical signature from the possessed wolves though we would need them alive," Lilith piped up, speaking for the first time.
"We don't know when they'll attack us next though. Do we just sit and wait?" Zane asked, looking as frustrated as I felt.
"Yes that's the only way I'm afraid. We have no way on knowing where they come from without live hostages," Seraphine frowned.
"I don't know when they'll attack us next but there are several packs out there that have yet to be attacked. Do you think they'd be more likely to be targeted?" Apollo asked, glancing around the large table.
"Yes they could be. I suggest we send a couple of witches to each pack so they can help trace the magic if they are attacked," Medea said, looking thoughtful.
"Good and we'll tell them to keep an eye out for human scents," Kieran added with a nod.
"So that's settled then. I'll have the treaty documents prepared so we can formally announce our allegiance to the werewolf and witch public," Seraphine stated, looking around the table for any objections.
