"Why didn't he tell us?!" She cried. She looked back at me, tears in her eyes. "I'm sorry, I didn't know. I have to get back. I'm sorry," she choked out before scurrying away.

I scowled at her retreating form, turning back to continue assessing the land. I took my time, trekking around the house and through the forests until I found the perfect route. I quickly turned around and headed back inside, wanting to visit the cells one last time before I set everything in place. The house was eerily silent as I snuck back into my room.

"Where were you?" A deep voice growled. I rolled my eyes but didn't answer him. His scent wafted towards me as he stepped closer.

"I went on a walk with your sister but she ditched me halfway," I shrugged, keeping my back towards him as I gazed out the window.

"I gave you specific instructions not to go outside," he growled again. Honestly, all the man could speak in was either growl or snarl.

"I'm not one of your little lap dogs, obeying the every command of their precious alpha," I snarled back, whirling around so I could stare him in the eyes. I could feel my eyes glowing their bright gold and I turned back around, quickly composing myself.

"What if something happened to you? What if my pack attacked thinking you had escaped?" He bit back. While a part of me was comforted knowing he cared for me on some level, another part of me, a stronger part of me, was insulted knowing he thought I couldn't handle myself.

"I can handle myself perfectly well," I retorted. I felt him step closer to me, so his warm breath was tickling my hair. I still didn't turn around.

"Is that what you said to yourself when my pack was surrounding you and your little boyfriend?" I couldn't help the little smirk on my face at the jealousy in his tone. He thought Conan was my boyfriend.

"You call getting imprisoned and almost killed 'handling it'?" He growled softly. I didn't answer, instead keeping my snarky comment to myself so I wouldn't reveal anything to him. Taking my silence as disrespect, he grabbed my upper arm and twisted me around.

"Don't ignore your alpha!" He snarled, baring his large canines at me. I pursued my lips and raised a brow at his unnecessary display. I took a step back, but he wrapped his arms tightly around me, trapping my arms at my sides, before pulling me into his body.

I tried not to let the tingles shooting up my body affect me.

He leaned his face closer to mine, his nose brushing mine and pitch black eyes boring into me. He had his teeth bared, his canines sharp and not wanting them to cut me, I turned my face away from his.

I felt his chest rumble before he pushed his face into my now exposed neck. I gasped as I felt his tongue lick the side of my neck and pleasure course through me when he reached the spot where my neck and shoulder met. Where my mark should be.

I felt his teeth graze the spot and I couldn't help the small moan that left my mouth. He froze before letting me go and stumbling back, looking at me with horror. He shook his head and scrunched his eyes shut.

"This is wrong," he muttered. I scoffed loudly and his eyes snapped to mine.

"If you're gonna keep doing this, fucking reject me already so I can get it over with," I snapped. His crystal eyes swam with hurt and guilt and I watched as he put up his walls and mask.
