She slipped out of the car, Haris was waiting for her near the jet. It had taken all her restraint to not just barge into Taimur's penthouse to meet the kids one last time.
It had all started when Haris had informed her that the council was planning to kill her to take their revenge on Taimur. King Waleed and Haris had suggested executing those members, but Alia had stopped them. She had found a way out in the plan of the council. She had asked Waleed to give her this one last thing.
She knew she won't be able to see Taimur with Eva, it won't be possible for her. She had loved him too much and the thought of sharing him with another woman was killing her. Even if Taimur would agree to divorce her it won't be easy, she was the mother of the heirs to the throne of Azmaayir, and Taimur divorcing her to marry a non-Azmaayiri would raise a storm.
The Azmaayiri people would want Taimur to be stripped of the title. They had forgiven him once but they won't twice. She knew it better than anyone and so did King Waleed.
Alia asked Haris if he could intercept the plan to fake her death? They both were horrified when they realized what she was planning. Uncle Waleed had been against it, but she had convinced him gradually.
"Salaam Alaykum," Haris had a serious expression on his face.
"Walaykum Salaam," she replied politely.
Haris was not comfortable with betraying Taimur. He had told both the King and Alia that they should have included, Taimur in their plan. Alia on the other hand didn't agree to it. Taimur had hurt her beyond description and she didn't want his involvement in her life further.
She was sure if he knew Alia was alive he won't hesitate to interfere in her life. Alia didn't want this, after all, the sacrifices she was making for him. She deserved this freedom. She had never been the bending type, she had never bowed down to any man in her life and nor she ever will.
"You should have thought about your sons," Haris said walking with her to the aircraft.
"They are the heirs to the throne. I don't have any right over them, " she replied gulping down the lump in her throat.
No matter what happens, she wouldn't forgive Taimur for this. It was because of him that she had to give up her sons. She had once thought to live in Azmaayir with them, but she couldn't. She won't be able to bear Eva's presence in Taimur's life.
She didn't have any harsh feelings for Eva, she was too a victim of Al Jahaan's ruthlessness. They were not normal men, they were megalomaniacs and she didn't want any part of their ruthlessness anymore.
"Alia, think again," Haris's voice held a plea.
"Haris it's too late for that, the news of my death has reached everywhere. The whole world has watched my burial," She said with a sad smile.
"I am not talking about that," Haris frowned," Review your decision about not telling Tim," he pressed his mouth in a tight line.
Haaris had been pressing her since the last three days she had been underground. They had rushed a funeral before Taimur came back from the US. The reason that they gave him was it was Alia's last wish that she didn't want him to see her dead. She wanted him to remember her alive.
Taimur had raised a stormed after he returned inquiring why her burial was rushed. It had taken King Waleed two hours to calm him down. She knew she had put her uncle in an awkward position but she didn't have any other choice.
How she could have explained to her children, why their father was not with her but with another woman? She didn't want her children to think that their father didn't love her. Though she hated Tim for what he had done to her, still she didn't want to poison the minds of her sons.
"Ahmed is devastated, " Haris mumbled.
Alia flinched her eyes, she knew how much Ahmed was attached to her. The time she was in the US she had to call him every two hours to tell him that she will return soon. He hadn't heard or seen her for three days, she couldn't even imagine what he must be going through.
"Taimur, your desperation to get your love back, had cost me so much," A tear escaped her eye.
"Will, you ever meet your kids?" Haris asked in a dejected tone.
