Chapter 19 Wretched 

Jonathan rushed to the ward. When Rose saw him, she immediately got out of bed and ran toward him. 

Clinging onto him, she complained, “I thought I was going to die. I don’t get. 

why I was so unlucky that I would get dragged down by that wretched Mr. Finch.” 

Jonathan was bewildered. 

Wretched? 

He frowned. 

Rose did not notice his reaction. 

She continued angrily, “If I die, I’ll turn into a ghost and haunt him every night! He won’t be able to get any sleep at all!” 

Finley, who had just arrived at the door, was thunderstruck when he saw the position they were in. 

He had never seen anyone acting so boldly around Jonathan before. 

Finley wondered if Rose did not know that the wretched Mr. Finch she was talking about was right in front of her right now. 

Jonathan was frowning. It was obvious that he felt a little upset. 

Finley thought Jonathan would push the woman away and reprimand her. But unexpectedly, Jonathan held her by the waist as if he feared that she would fall 

over. 

There was even a smile on his lips. 

For a moment, Finley was perplexed. 

Rose and Jonathan did not notice him at all. 

Jonathan knew he should punish Rose for being rude. But then, she said she would haunt him every night… He kind of looked forward to that 

Still in his arms, Rose stared at her husband’s handsome face. She recalled seeing him walking out of the light and coming toward her last night. Her heart 

thumped wildly as a thought occurred to her. 

“Oh, by the way, how did you find me last night?” 

Her phone had been snatched away from her before she could tell him where she was. She did not understand how he found her. 

Jonathan frowned. “It was probably a coincidence. I happened to pass by the 

area.” 

Rose kept quiet. 

Was he telling the truth? Did he have a client who lived in that mountainside. villa area? 

The possibility of that upsetted Rose, but she quickly dismissed those thoughts. 

Tearing away from her husband, she listened to the doctor who updated her about her condition. 

Since she was not seriously injured, she decided to get discharged from the hospital. She wanted to pay a visit to the headquarters of Celeste Jewels. 

Rose bade her husband goodbye. She had just left the hospital when she received Nixon’s call. 

As soon as she answered the call, Nixon’s furious insults rang out. “Rose, you bitch! How dare you trick me! You-” 

Nixon had already found out about her marital status from the official government records. 

Rose snorted to herself. He was finally dropping the gentleman act and starting to throw insults everywhere. He disgusted her. 

She did not even wait for him to finish insulting her before she hung up with a sneer. She was in a great mood. 

Meanwhile, Nixon was so furious that he threw his phone on the floor. “Damn. it! How dare she get married? Damn it all…!” 

Moreover, the system at the county clerk’s office had no records of the man she married. It only showed that Rose was married, but her partner’s name was unknown. 

“What the hell does ‘unknown‘ even mean Nixon knocked over a cup. 

Beside him, Kelly was so scared that she sobbed silently. “Nixon, is Rose… Taking revenge on you? Maybe she can’t accept the fact that you and I are together. 

“Nixon, go and plead with her. Tell her that I am willing to take a step back. No, I’ll go. I’ll get on my knees and beg 

Kelly turned to leave. 

She had just taken a step when Nixon held her back. He was heartbroken to see her acting this way. He pulled her into his arms and said, ‘I know you love. me the most.” 

Burying her head in his chest, Kelly sneered. 

She did not leave the Lane residence last night.
