Chapter 20 Who Exactly Was That Man 

The headquarters of Celeste Jewels was located in Century Tower.. 

Rose had just gotten into the elevator when a row of luxury cars pulled up outside the building. 

Under the protection of his bodyguards, Jonathan got out of the car. 

Finley accidentally voiced the question in his heart as he walked next to Jonathan. 

“The Finches only own a few scattered properties in Century Tower. The rest are in the Finch Building in Aquastead. 

“But Mr. Finch, you’ve chosen to inspect the properties here in Century Tower instead. Is it because of Ms. Shaffer?” 

Jonathan stopped in his tracks and sneered in disdain, “Because of her? Hah! You must be kidding me!” 

They got into the elevator. It was obvious that Jonathan stared at the listing for Celeste Jewels in the directory for longer than usual. 

Finley stayed silent. He pursed his lips and decided not to expose Jonathan. He knew that Jonathan was not being honest about his feelings. 

This was Rose’s first time at the headquarters of Celeste Jewels. She was stopped at the reception counter. 

She scoffed at the fact that she could not even enter the company her mother 

left to her. What a joke! 

“Don’t you know who I am?” Rose asked. 

The receptionist glanced at Rose in disdain.. 

“I don’t care who you are. If you don’t have an appointment, you can’t enter. Even if you’re one of the Finches, the richest family in Veridian, the same rules apply to you!” 

Rose frowned. She tried to say something when Maya walked over to them. Maya did not seem to come bearing good intentions.

“Rose? Hah! Uncle Jamie has already driven you out of the house. What are you still doing here?” 

Maya stopped pretending to be nice. She stared at Rose’s pretty face. Then, she looked down at the shirt Rose was wearing. Her eyes were filled with 

scorn. 

“Hey, why are you still wearing the man’s shirt? What’s the matter? You can’t even afford to buy clothes anymore now that you’ve been kicked out of the family?” 

Rose could barely recognize the person in front of her. 

In the past, Maya had not been just her cousin. Maya had also been her best friend, apart from Yvonne Spencer. 

Rose had been sincerely nice to Maya. She even drafted the jewelry designs that made Maya famous in the industry. 

But it turns out that that had all been for nothing! 

Rose smiled mockingly. She could not be bothered to waste time on Maya. 

“I want to see my dad,” she said. 

“Uncle Jamie refuses to see you. Just get lost!” Maya was extremely arrogant. She was jealous of Rose’s beauty and talent.

Sneering, Maya said to the receptionist, “What are you waiting for? How can you let a random person enter Celeste Jewels? Get the security guards to 

chase her out!”

Soon, the security guards came upstairs. They brought Rose down to the lobby on the first floor. 

Rose was furious. She tried to call Jamie, but she soon realized that he had 

blocked her. 

Hah… Rose sneered. 

Sometimes, she wondered if she truly was Jamie’s biological daughter. Her 

heart ached a little. 

Suddenly, an angry voice rang out behind her. Rose turned around to see Nixon marching toward her. 

As soon as Nixon approached her, he raised his hand and slapped her across. the face. She felt a searing pain. 

Nixon glared at Rose with a nasty expression and questioned her harshly, ” Who’s the man? Who exactly is he?” 

Kelly had come with Nixon. She was so startled by the slap that she panicked. 

“Nixon, please calm down. Rose didn’t mean to betray you 

Their reactions made it seem like Rose was a filthy cheater. 

In an instant, the onlookers began whispering about Rose. 

Jonathan had just walked out of the elevator when he saw Rose. She was standing in the middle of the crowd and covering her left cheek with her hand. 

Her head was lowered, and her long hair scattered messily over her face. She looked like she was being bullied. 

Jonathan’s gaze turned cold. He was about to step forward when he suddenly saw her looking up. 

Rose sneered, and in a flash, 

“Argh-”
