Ivor sat across from Bonnie and apologized to her, “I’m sorry for acting without first consulting you. I wouldn’t have done that unless it was necessary. I did it hoping to speed up the process.”

“So, you’re saying you have a good reason?” Bonnie raised her brows in disbelief. “How about you try to convince me?”

“I just got married, and my wife was reluctant to let me go when she discovered I had to travel so far for so long. She even cried under a blanket. Although I was unwilling to leave her, I still came to Yale.

“That said, I don’t want to go home and find out she wants a divorce because she’s mad at me. That’s why I was desperate to speed up our process. I want to go home and be with her. I constantly risk my life, so it’s hard for me to find a wife.”

Ivor told a white lie shamelessly, even though he only exaggerated some parts of the story.

Meanwhile, Floyd was so shocked by what he heard that he choked. “Cough, cough, cough!”

‘I guess Mr. Ivor wasn’t lying about Ms. Bonnie being reluctant to let him go. Still, he lied about her crying under a blanket. He even said she might want a divorce, which is ridiculous. Ms. Bonnie would never do that. Even imagining it doesn’t seem right.’

With that in mind, Floyd continued coughing. Immediately after, he saw Ivor glaring at him, causing his heart to pound. Floyd lowered his head and strained to suppress his cough.

Meanwhile, Ivor turned to Bonnie and said, “Please excuse my assistant. He hasn’t been feeling well lately. I hope it doesn’t bother you.”

Bonnie waved and said, “That’s okay.”

Even so, everything depended on the situation. If Bonnie could choose, she would have taken her time to retrieve the chip and catch Falcon. After all, she wanted to teach him a lesson he would never forget.

‘I’ll consider this guy’s words and speed things up without compromising my plans.’

“I appreciate it.” Ivor knew just how wise and capable the Nidhoggs’ leader was. The latter could have made her move long ago if she wanted to.
