Chapter 115 It's Better for Us to Divorce

Harper frowned, "What can I do at the hospital? I just came to check on my health because I wasn't feeling too well."

"Just feeling unwell?"

"And what else would you think it is?"

Benjamin glanced at her, calmly asking, "Harper, are you pregnant?"

Harper was taken aback by his abrupt question, but she maintained a composed exterior, meeting his gaze and stating, "I don't know where you heard that from, but I am not pregnant."

After a brief silence, Benjamin's tone remained unchanged as he asked, "Is it truly that you're not pregnant, or is it that you're pregnant but don't want the kid?"

Now Harper was sure he didn't know about her pregnancy.

Harper, composed, replied, "Benjamin, I said I'm not pregnant. Just because I come to the hospital when I'm feeling unwell, does it always have to mean I'm pregnant? I just came because I wasn't feeling well during my period, and the doctor advised some rest."

"Is that so?"

"If you don't believe me, there's not much I can do."

"Since you say you're not, I'll accompany you for another check-up."

His intense gaze locked onto her, his words not up for negotiation but a direct notification.

Harper calmly responded, "Are you suspecting that if I refuse the check-up, it means I'm pregnant and want to secretly get rid of the child?"

With his expression unchanged, Benjamin continued to observe her.

With an indecipherable mix of emotions on his face, Benjamin spoke in a low, hoarse voice. "Harper, you're reacting strongly. Are you so nervous and worried that I'll force you to get checked?"

He thought, "So, Harper is indeed not pregnant."

A visible sense of disappointment filled his eyes as he asked, "Harper, is this result true?"

Harper met his gaze without evasion. "Why would I fake it? Larry was watching me here before you arrived, and Julie had already left before Larry came. Do you think I conspired with Julie beforehand to show you fake results?"

She emphasized the word "watching" and it seemed that there were no loopholes in her statement.

Benjamin looked at her with an expression of uncertainty. He had to believe that she truly wasn't pregnant, just experiencing physical discomfort.

When he received that call from Larry, Benjamin had considered all possibilities to negotiate with Harper. As long as she kept the child, everything else would be up to her.

But now, as Benjamin realized it was all a misunderstanding, a deep sense of loss washed over him. Finally, he said, "If there's no pregnancy, then let it be. We had only just decided to have a child not long ago, after all."

Harper frowned, then chuckled, "Benjamin, will your decisions be executed without my agreement?"
