"What happened? Is it about the girls who were interested in him?" Harper wondered.

Harper stayed cool and collected, showing almost no emotion.

Her response was just as calm. "So what if I noticed? What can I do about it? I can't control what others think. It's normal for us to admire another person, isn't it?"

Her words added to his fury, making him feel like he could snap at any moment.

His face darkened, and his voice turned cold. "So as my wife, you don't react when someone asks for my contact info and gossips about you right in front of you?"

Harper chuckled.

She shot back. "Benjamin, what do you want me to do? Confront them or warn them to back off?"

She felt helpless. Those girls didn't even know if he was married. They just noticed his looks and admired him, but once they knew the truth, they left.

She couldn't understand why Benjamin suddenly had these thoughts. After all, Lauren had been interested in him for a while, but he never encouraged Harper to do anything about it.

Benjamin seemed unhappy about the situation, but his hand remained on Harper's waist.

Such closeness made Harper uncomfortable.

It was their first trip to the supermarket together since getting married. Despite their impending divorce, they were doing things they hadn't done during their whole first year of marriage.

Looking back, since he brought up divorce, they'd actually been spending more time together and interacting more.
