Chapter 291 A Ghost

While waiting for Benjamin to return, Harper didn't sleep and practically watched the sky brighten up bit by bit outside the window.

Benjamin got back to the apartment after seven in the morning.

Hearing the door open, she reacted immediately. Clear footsteps approached the bedroom, and Benjamin pushed the door open. The two looked at each other, and he came over to her and held her gently in his arms.

Harper pressed her lips together slightly and leaned quietly into his arms, feeling instantly secure.

Benjamin whispered, "Have you been up all this time?"

"I slept for a while." She wasn't telling the truth. In fact, she thought she was being rather pretentious herself. But the thought of falling asleep and being haunted by nightmares didn't make her want to sleep at all.

Benjamin looked down at her and asked in a low voice, "Can you sleep with me for a while? I'm tired from the plane trip this morning!"

Harper couldn't say no when he'd said that.

With him sleeping next to her, the fear in Harper's heart wasn't so great. She closed her eyes and moved as close to Benjamin as she could.

It wasn't long before she fell asleep.

Benjamin beside her lifted the covers and sat up at that moment. Holding his cell phone in his hand, he glanced at the sleeping Harper on the bed and frowned tightly. He then walked over to the couch and sat down, finding Yinson's number and sending a message over.

[Harper's been having nightmares for the past two days. Is there something wrong with her body?]

Yinson replied quickly: [Is she overthinking? If she's watched too many similar movies or is psychologically stressed out, it can create a dream cycle.]

Benjamin: [Couldn't it be a physical reason?]

Benjamin could clearly see Harper widen her eyes, which revealed endless fear. Her face was pale, and her voice carried a light tremor. "A ghost... I saw a ghost..."

"Harper, you were dreaming. It was just a dream. Don't think too much about it, okay?"

"I really saw it. I felt so scared. It was horrible."

Benjamin frowned and stared at her face for a long moment before reaching out to take her in his arms again. This time, Harper didn't push him away again, instead leaning into his arms. She clutched his shirt for a long time without letting go.

Benjamin stayed quiet and accompanied her. After a few moments, his low voice rang in her ear. "Harper, let me talk to you. Tell me what you dreamed about. I'll interpret your dream, okay?"

Harper shook her head. "I don't want to recall it. That dream was really scary."

Her eyes were slightly stunned as she asked, seemingly unsure, "Benjamin, do you believe what I'm saying?"
