Chapter 167 WhatsApp Texts
The driver also spotted Ellis. After she got into the car and left, he couldn’t help but say, “Mr. Hudson, Mrs. Hudson was just there.”
The last time he had seen Ellis was at Dynasty Estate.
She was clinging to the wall like a slow–moving spider, inching her way down toward the ground. It was an incredibly dangerous situation. Back then, Easton only stood frozen as he silently watched her.
The driver was right beside him, not daring to make a sound, afraid that any sudden movement might‘ startle Ellis and cause her to fall.
Now, after speaking, he carefully observed Easton.
He had misspoken earlier. Easton didn’t look the same back then as he did now. At that time, there had been no trace of the subtle yet inexplicable sense of loss he was giving off now. Instead, his expression had been filled with worry and anger.
Hearing the driver’s words, Easton didn’t respond. He simply got into the car.
Before he stepped in, the driver hesitated for a moment and glanced at Taylor, as if seeking help.
In a way, he and Taylor were in similar roles, both responsible for attending to Easton’s needs. Their interests and allegiances aligned, which meant information could be exchanged when necessary, especially if it benefited them..
But right now, Taylor had nothing to trade. She only realized one thing… Easton had never corrected anyone around him when they referred to Ellis as “Mrs. Hudson.” Did that mean calling Ellis “Ms. Harper” in front of Mr. Hudson is inappropriate?
After sneaking back home, Ellis had barely lain down when her phone buzzed with a text that read, “Did you run into Easton?”
The sender was an unfamiliar number with no saved name. She thought for a moment. The only person who would ask such a pointless question was Morty.
He had called her once before and even added her on WhatsApp. She forgot to block him.
Too lazy to reply, she was about to block his number when another message popped up. “Are you still at the hotel where the banquet was held?”
Why is he asking so many questions? Does he have nothing better to do?
Just as she was halfway through blocking him, a third message came in. “Madam Lois just told me you left early.”
Ellis rolled her eyes at her screen.
This guy was ridiculous. He was literally having a conversation with himself!
He sent another message, “Reply to me. I have an important document for you to go through.”
There he went again, trying to get her to reply. What is Morty up to?
