Chapter 170 First Love

“Ms. Victoria, I’ll check the schedule at the office tomorrow and get back to you.”

Finished

Easton’s first love couldn’t be offended, but Taylor still had to follow confidentiality rules. She used an appropriate excuse to brush her off for now, planning to find another reason to refuse her tomorrow. At the same time, a small doubt crept into her mind. If Victoria wants to meet Mr. Hudson, why didn’t she contact him directly?

On the surface, asking Taylor about Easton’s schedule seemed like she was trying not to disturb him during work, but Easton didn’t work 24/7. If she didn’t want to visit him at the office, she could go to his house and spend the night with him.

After hanging up, Taylor calculated the time it would take for the driver to get Easton home. Shortly after the driver had parked, Taylor called him.

“Ronnie, you’ve been Mr. Hudson’s personal driver for years. Have you ever seen Victoria at his house?”

At first glance, the question seemed random. Ronnie Smith was confused. “Never.”

JAS

Easton’s personal driver, Ronnie was always on standby whenever Easton needed a ride. He even lived at the Hudson mansion, so he was certain he had never seen Victoria there.

“Never?” Taylor found it hard to believe.

“Yeah,” Ronnie emphasized. “Taylor, why are you asking?”

“It’s just a little strange.”

“What’s strange?”

“Victoria never went to the Hudson mansion? She never stayed over?”

Taylor considered another possibility–maybe Easton and Victoria had a regular place outside where they spent the night together.

“Taylor, what are you even thinking?” Ronnie was stunned by her assumption.

The Hudson mansion wasn’t just any house. It was the home Easton shared with Ellis as their marital residence. Even though Ellis no longer lived there, if she ever found out that another woman had stayed over, it would be a disaster.

Catching the surprise in Ronnie’s tone, Taylor asked, “Am I wrong to think that?”

“Of course you are!” Ronnie thought for a moment before adding, “Mrs. Hudson and Mr. Hudson never liked outsiders in their home, especially Mr. Hudson. He’s always been particular about that.”

It seems like Victoria isn’t as close to Mr. Hudson as she wants people to believe. Why does it feel like there is no real intimacy between them?

After listening and thinking it over, Taylor came to a rough conclusion. Mr. Hudson still has feelings for Ellis.

As for Victoria, the socalled irreplaceable first love, Taylor’s initial thought of not daring to offend her had now turned into curiosity. Just how much does Mr. Hudson actually care about her?

Since there was no way she could invite Easton, Victoria tried other ways. She remembered the ex–classmate gathering back then; Easton attended without hesitation.

Her first target to help her was Morty. She called him and said, “Morty, hold a gathering and invite Easton.”

“Isn’t inviting him on your own way easier? Do you have to use me?” Morty did not refuse, but his words showed that he was disdained.

“If I could invite him, I wouldn’t have called you,” said Victoria. She then added, “You promised to help me become Mrs. Hudson.”

“You saw how Easton hit my head with a wine bottle. Do you think I can easily help you as I please?” Morty took a sip of wine, which was given to him by a friend. “I can’t help you. Look for someone else. I’m entertaining some people. Bye.”

Without waiting for Victoria to reply, Morty hung up.

When he saw his friends‘ gazes, he arched his brows. “What are you guys looking at?”

“Before you answered the call, you were grinning at your phone like a man in love. Then after the call, your face turned dark. was about to ask if you’ve got someone special. Are you in a relationship?” His friend teased, playfully punching Morty on the shoulder.

As the call screen disappeared, the WhatsApp chat popped back up. Morty instinctively glanced at the British Shorthair. staring into the camera, and he smiled slightly. “If I am, you’ll be the first to know.”
