Im the Obsession of My Cold Hearted Ex
Chapter 287 High Rises and Sinking Ships
Finished
Sometimes, people were strange and selfish creatures; it was hard to completely reject someone’s efforts to please them.
With a somewhat melancholy sigh, Ellis didn’t respond to Morty’s message, but he surely knew she had seen it.
Living in Stonebridge wasn’t peaceful; there was always something happening. She hoped that soon her life would settle into calm and comfort.
During the New Year period. Easton had visited the entrance of Ellis’s community several times, hoping for a chance encounter as she exited, but he never saw her leave.
His longing was nearly overwhelming, and today he finally ‘overcame his hesitation and decided to visit her. Knowing she was at work, he timed his arrival at the Tate Group to coincide with her getting off work.
Instead of waiting outside, Easton entered the Tate Group building and contacted Lois first.
“Mr. Hudson, welcome to our office. Lois greeted him as she came downstairs, though she was puzzled by his visit.
“Which floor does Ellis work on?” Easton cut straight to the chase.
Lois wasn’t surprised by his question, though she feigned astonishment. Not knowing the current status between Easton and Ellis, she answered his question and then discreetly sent a message to Ellis while Easton wasn’t looking.
“Ms. Harper, Mr. Hudson is on the first floor, and it seems he’s here to see you.”
Lois’s heads–up was meant to prepare Ellis, so she wouldn’t be startled by suddenly seeing Easton.
Perhaps Ellis was deeply engrossed in her work, as she didn’t respond for several minutes. Eventually, Lois brought Easton up to the floor where Ellis worked, but Ellis hadn’t replied yet.
By the time Easton followed Lois into the executive lobby and spotted Ellis, he walked straight over to her. Ellis, caught off guard, looked up and couldn’t hide her displeasure at the unexpected visitor.
The lobby wasn’t empty; other employees were present. “Mr. Hudson, would you like to sit in my office for a bit?” Lois asked.
Ellis was very tempted to curse out Easton who had appeared out of nowhere.
It was all very bizarre-her boss and her ex standing together, with her ex apparently brought over by Lois.
Lois knew full well who Easton was to her, and how messy their divorce had been. Why then allow him here?
Facing Ellis’s openly annoyed gaze, Easton, pretending he hadn’t come specifically for her, took up Lois’s offer. “That would be fine.”
With that, he followed Lois to her office. Ellis, having witnessed the whole scene, was utterly confused
I Easton not here to see me? Had he come for some business between Hudson Group and Tate Group?
Easton’s sudden appearance and just as sudden departure drew attention.
A few people glanced at Ellis, because Easton and Lois had purposefully approached her, clearly showing Easton knew her.
Thus, the colleague closest to Ellis asked, “Ms. Harper, who was that just now?”
Ellis was caught off guard by the question. She wanted to shake her head, denying she knew him, but if Easton showed they knew each other, it would be embarrassing.
However, Easton, dressed sharply and exuding an elite aura, attracted plenty of attention. Lois had treated him with notable courtesy, confirming his significant status, leading colleagues to casually chat about him.
