Ellis cut him off. “Stop, I don’t want to argue with you about pointless stuff. Stay away from me, and don’t
let me see your
face.”
With that said, she pulled Maya along and left.
This time. Easton did not chase after her. He just stood there, watching the girl’s receding back.
Determined to win her back and carti her forgiveness, Baston decided to start over and pursue her again. But Ellis was stubborn. She was also like a hedgehog, warning him to keep his distance.
A faint sense of despair crept in. His hands hung loosely at his sides, and a trace of bewilderment flickered in his eyes.
Morty and Cameron had been watching from outside the restaurant the entire time. They saw Ellis leave with Maya, leaving Easton standing there alone. Under the night sky, his tall frame was subtly shrouded in
sorrow.
Cameron, as if discovering a whole new world, let out a surprised “Huh,” before saying in disbelief, “Is this really the Easton we know? I never thought the almighty Mr. Hudson could look like this in front of his ex- wife.
Morty didn’t find it as shocking as Cameron did, but he was still slightly taken aback.
“Easton, he…” Cameron perked up, eager to hear what Morty had to say.
But to his disappointment, Morty fell silent. Still, he understood why–Easton had turned around, facing them directly.
Even from a distance, Easton’s sharp gaze swept toward them.
Cameron instinctively rubbed his eyes as he was momentarily stunned.
The sorrow that had seemed to shroud Easton carlier… Was it just an illusion? Because if he wasn’t mistaken, Easton’s eyes were now brimming with hostility. Not just irritation, but the kind of murderous intent that made a man want to tear someone apart.
Cameron was baffled. Ellis had thrown attitude at Easton,et somehow, we are the ones bearing his wrath? Seriously? What did we do?
If he had known, he wouldn’t have informed Easton of what happened to Ellis. Regret filled Cameron’s heart, and he wanted to escape,
Morty met Easton’s gaze without a flicker of emotion, if the coldness didn’t reach him at all.
Cameron, on the other hand, was nearly sweating. What the hell is going on between these two?
Easton’s voice had been cold before, but this was different. There was something dangerous beneath the surface, something that made Cameron seriously reconsider his life choices. Should I just turn and walk away? Would that be cowardly, or just smart?

Just a moment ago, Morty looked like he couldn’t care less about Easton, Cameron had fully expected him to be cold and dismissive. But now? Is he actually smiling and talking to Easton? Has Morty been lying about their falling out?
