“Enough, just stop!” Ellis made a hand gesture for East to shut up. “Your concern is worthless to me!”
“My concern is worthless, but Morty’s is worth something?” Easton’s anger, which he had been controlling, reignited, his voice growing volder, the impulse to make Morty disappear resurfacing in his heart.
“His isn’t worth anything, and neither is yours. Both of you are people I really dislike!” Ellis didn’t understand why Easton was comparing himself to Mory and shot him a cold look.
Growing up hearing that women were often unreasonable, she realized at this moment that men could be far more terrifying when they were being unreasonable
Easton’s gloomy face brightened unexpectedly when he heard her say she disliked both of them. The coldness in his eyes vanished instantly, and even his whole demeanor softened.
Making sure he hadn’t misheard, he asked, “You really dislike Morty?”
“No kidding!” Ellis responded irritably.
“If you dislike him, then why do you keep hanging out with him?” Easton looked puzzled, not entirely blinded by the “dislike for both,” “You were even with him last night…”
“I really dislike Morty, so stop causing trouble for me,” Ellis said sharply, cutting him off.
She told Easton this to downplay the situation. From Morty’s perspective, he liked her, and there was. nothing wrong with that.
From her perspective, he was indeed someone she disliked, but he had helped and saved her in the past, Easton attacking him was totally unwarranted.
Knowing she disliked Morty and still going after him showed that, far from Morty being the one with poor. character, it was Easton who was truly despicable. His own character is flawed, so what right does he have to judge others?
If he did something unbearable and pushed her too far, she would catch a flight out tonight.
She was done with Stonebridge and its unbearable people and situations that constantly ruined her mood, making it seem impossible to have a single good day!
“So, Morty’s inappropriate feelings for you…” Easton carefully watched her expression and felt that he didn’t need to ask; her demeanor clearly indicated that she wouldn’t like Morty, “I won’t cause trouble, I was just really angry earlier.”
Easton could say just a couple of words, and Ellis would know what he was about to ask, rolling her eyes. She was fed up!
Does Easton really see himself as the sole ruler of the world, treating me as his possession?
He cheated with Victoria during their marriage, sought reconciliation with Ellis without breaking it off with Victoria, clearly wanting to have his cake and eat itoo, yet he couldn’t stand other men liking her.

In contrast, Morty, who didn’t retaliate and even spoke op for Easton, seemed more cultured.
Next to him, the usually dignified and proud Easton seened crude, like a thug losing his temper and lashing out, his handsome features marred by his belasior.
“Why should he listen to you?” Ellis couldn’t stand Easten’s self–righteous attitude, as if his hitting Morty was justified, and Morty was at fault.
