Neither of them spoke until they reached Elysian Park. 

The only sound was the soft hum of an old song, attempting to ease the tension in the air. 

The silence stretched between them. 

“We’ve arrived, Mr. Rockwell,” the driver reminded. “The entrance is restricted to outsiders.” 

Wilson smiled gently, his demeanor warm and polite. He turned to look at Seraphina. 

“Don’t feel like talking with me?” 

Seraphina paused, shaking her head. “No, not really.” 

Wilson raised an eyebrow and asked, “Care for a quick visit?”

Before she could refuse, he hurried to add, “Little Dani asked me to bring you something from abroad. I haven’t had the chance to give it to you yet, and it’d be perfect for you to take with you.” 

Seraphina hesitated for a moment. “What is it?” 

If it was some kind of expensive jewelry, she’d rather not- 

A smile tugged at the corners of Wilson’s lips. He cleared his throat. 

“It’s something he made by hand. It’s not worth much, but it’s something you can’t buy anywhere!” 

Kids always love these kinds of gestures. 

Wilson hadn’t originally planned on giving it to her, thinking it wasn’t impressive enough, but there was no other excuse. 

Seraphina smiled brightly, nodding. “Sure.” 

It must be a sweet little gift made with love. She’d keep it close and cherish it. 

Wilson exchanged a word with the man at the gate, and the driver smoothly entered the premises. 

Seraphina suddenly remembered something. “Did little Dani get into a fight at school?” 

Wilson raised an eyebrow. 

“He participated in a youth intellectual competition for smart kids, but his arrogant speech led to a fight with a boy who was five years older than him. Of course, he got beaten up.” 

Seraphina felt her heart ache for the boy. 

“They must have been jealous of his talent!” 

Wilson almost smirked, looking at her with a knowing expression. 

“Your answer is exactly the same as Dani’s, which is probably why he got beaten up.”

Wilson watched her helplessly. He hadn’t expected Seraphina to be so protective of Dani. 

She was really fond of the kid. 

“The reason the teacher called his parents was to get an apology from the boy who hit him. Parents need to step in for that. But Dani had the bodyguard pretend to be his father and apologize to the victim. The teacher saw through it. Then he hired an old man who sold stuff by the school gates, and of course, the teacher caught on. Eventually, Dani hired a man who was eating at a fast food restaurant. Turns out that man was the teacher’s father. 

“Just like that, he drove the teacher crazy. In the end, they found my secretary’s phone number from the school registry, and that’s how I found out.” 

Seraphina’s jaw dropped in surprise. 

Little Dani, who usually seemed so clever, had completely failed to think things through at a crucial 

moment. 

Didn’t he know that hiring someone far from the school would be beneficial? 

He still had so much to learn. 

Lost in thought, the car finally stopped. 

Wilson, ever the gentleman, opened the door for her. Seraphina stepped out and took in the surroundings. 

The air was fresh, and the environment was clean and inviting. The open space was lively yet peaceful, giving off a great first impression. 

Wilson walked ahead, chatting casually. 

“I know you usually stay in a duplex apartment, but I asked the developer, and both floors have been sold. No matter how much you offer, the buyers won’t sell. So, I had to settle for something else. It’s not far from your place, though.” 

His unspoken implication hung in the air: he bought this place to be closer to her.
