Chapter 554 The Price 

Seraphina suddenly remembered that after everything with Hannah, Orion had mentioned that Ramona was behind it, promising to give her an explanation. 

At the time, she wondered what kind of explanation he could offer when it involved his own family. 

But now, this news had practically delivered the answer to her on a silver platter. 

This was his explanation. 

Her heart gave a slight flutter, as if it missed a beat. 

The weight of it sinking in, the price was unimaginably steep. 

Justin sneered coldly, appearing completely indifferent. “Dros Group has long been Orion’s. Ramona probably can’t keep up with this younger generation anymore.” 

Sarah nodded and said, “Orion is definitely not someone to underestimate. His wealth and assets probably go far beyond just the Dros Group. No one dares to cross him. He must have some even deeper connections.” 

Seraphina stayed silent, not speaking a word. 

Emeris walked over, overheard their discussion, and sank into the couch. 

Seraphina handed him a cup of tea, which he took gratefully and sipped from, letting out a relaxed breath. 

“Speaking of which, I’ve never liked Ramona,” Emeris said with a grin. “Orion’s actions–well, they’re quite satisfying to me!” 

Only Emeris and Seraphina had focused on the same detail. 

Their eyes met, and they immediately understood what was truly important. 

Emeris furrowed his brow and said, “I heard at the board meeting that even his own mother and sister stepped up to criticize him, demanding he step down. That’s a real blow. Ramona certainly has no mercy.” 

Justin hesitated. “Well, no one in Dros Group doesn’t know that Orion’s cold and unfeeling–he’s the type who doesn’t care for niceties. On the surface, he’s polite, but he’s blunt with his words.” 

Seraphina couldn’t listen any longer. She walked barefoot to the floor–to–ceiling windows and gazed out at the setting sun, feeling a chill run through her. 

There wasn’t a decent person in Droses. 

But every time someone offended Seraphina, Orion would step in, teaching his family a lesson by taking the side of reason, not family. 

She hated them. It was only natural. 

But why did Orion have to do this? 

He had made enemies of everyone in Droses, so in moments like this, no one stood by him.

Emeris glanced at Seraphina, then at Justin, who was still babbling on. He shot him an irritated look. 

“If there’s nothing concrete to the rumors, why spread them? No matter how badly Orion comes off, he’s saved your sister’s life more than once. Don’t meddle in this!” 

Justin opened his mouth to argue, but after being reprimanded, he was too tired to respond. 

Sarah nodded in agreement, clearly seeing the logic in Emeris’s words. 

She looked at Seraphina and assumed she was probably feeling sentimental. 

Seraphina leaned against the glass. The coldness of the window seeped through, grounding her, giving her some clarity. 

She suddenly walked over and grabbed her phone. 

Emeris assumed she was about to call Orion, and so did Justin and Sarah. 

They all wanted to warn her to calm down. 

Seraphina spoke up, “Siri, set an alarm for 8 AM tomorrow. I have an appointment.” 

Everyone was left speechless. 

The next day. 

Seraphina went to the office. She took over the afternoon tea that Sivir and a client had planned. 

They were meeting at a golf club. 

Before she left the house, she received a call from Wilson. 

Wilson was calm, courteous, and polite; he was always respectful. 

After the scare he gave her last time, he dared not show his face for a while, giving her some time to forget. 

“Seraphina, would you like to go shopping this afternoon?” 

Seraphina frowned and asked, “Mr. Rockwell, is this your new hobby?” 

Wilson chuckled, his laugh clear and warm. 

“Dani was the one who insisted upon hearing that you were scared. He wants me to make it up to you. He insisted that I make it up to you, even if I have to buy the entire mall to make you forgive him.”
