Chapter 556 Desperate Plea for Help

Seraphina lowered her gaze, her radiant face carrying a smile that was more ambiguous than welcoming. When she lifted her eyes, they locked with Tony’s, a look of caution hidden deep in her eyes. 

“Mr. Abbott, let’s do this. We’ll change the contract to a five–year term, with Cross Group having priority supply within those five years. I can take charge and increase the order price by twenty percent.” 

This proposal was a win–win for both parties. 

She had done her homework. The cost of equipment had indeed risen. If Tony wanted to stick to the original price, he’d go bankrupt in just a few years. 

Sivir had mentioned to her that a little benefit was needed to keep him motivated. 

Twenty percent was more than fair. 

But Tony’s face betrayed a clear sense of disappointment. 

What interested him more, it seemed, was the assembly of medical devices. 

Seraphina was nothing like the pampered fool people had made her out to be. 

She was sharper than Sivir. 

Yet, twenty percent was still an unexpected surprise. 

“Alright, Ms. Cross, you’re as straightforward as they say. How about we sign the contract now?” 

Seraphina nodded, glancing at Thomas. He immediately got to work preparing the paperwork.

she was about to settle back, her gaze casually flicked to a familiar face across the room. 

She didn’t think much of it. In situations such as these, it’s possible that the individual was simply another 

guest. 

Seraphina had already achieved her goal, so she didn’t need to keep playing golf while standing in the sun. 

The two of them made their way into the lounge to wait. 

Tony was suddenly called aside by someone from his group. 

Seraphina idly scrolled through her phone. Her vision dimmed for a moment. She looked up, her eyes narrowing in recognition. 

“Zora?” 

It was the same Zora from the reality show they had both competed in. Seraphina had a distinct memory of her–Zora had successfully pushed Henry out of the spotlight, emerging as the program’s biggest winner, claiming both fame and fortune. 

But now, Zora stood before her with red–rimmed eyes, bare face, her complexion pale and sickly. 

Zora kept looking around nervously, as if she was afraid someone might notice her.

Zora’s body was trembling; her mind appeared to slip into a haze. 

Seraphina was only half convinced. Could this be some kind of trap? 

She smirked slightly and asked, “You know where she is? Go get her yourself. I’m not a police officer. Why should I rescue your daughter? 

Zora bit her lip so hard it almost drew blood. 

“I’m not lying! I to you. If I do, Mr. Dros will kill me!”

Mentioning Orion made Seraphina’s eyes narrow. The connection between them was definitely not the one she had expected. 

It didn’t seem like some romantic entanglement, but more like an employer–employee relationship. 

“Why should I believe you?” 

Seraphina sat back, poised and unmoving. 

If there is a real danger, why wouldn’t she go to the police? Why would she ask for her help? 

Zora’s anxiety was palpable, her body shaking with desperation. 

She fumbled with her phone, pulling up a picture–a young, smiling woman holding a baby. In the picture, she was barely in her twenties. 

“This is my daughter. She’s only six. Tony has a habit of abusing kids. If he takes her, he’ll kill her!” 

Seraphina, even with her usual calm, couldn’t help but feel something was terribly wrong. 

“The child… Is she yours and Tony’s?”
