But he still decided to talk to Miranda about it.

"When we were kids, we all lived in this big neighborhood. I used to run off and get into fights, and if I got caught, it was always Sebastian who ratted me out."

Miranda just gave him a look.

"In front of everyone, he plays the perfect gentleman. But I've seen him do things, Miranda. I once saw him brutally kill a bear," Elian's voice dropped a notch, "and he enjoyed it."

Miranda raised an eyebrow, "Where'd he get a bear?"

Elian gritted his teeth, "Is that really the point?"

Miranda rubbed her nose, "I'm just curious."

Elian huffed, "With his connections, having a bear is no big deal. Heck, he's got his own private security force in some parts of the world."

Miranda knew about that. For some of the top-tier families or those who've made significant contributions, certain regions or countries allowed them to maintain private security forces.

Of course, there's a limit to how many people they could have.

Not every place has strict gun control laws like Ardenza; abroad, things can get ten times more chaotic.

"So, the guy is nothing like he seems," Elian said coldly. "Who knows what he's really up to."

Miranda nodded, "Yeah."

Elian shot her a suspicious look.

"I’m not being petty or jealous," he clarified. "I just don't trust his intentions."

Miranda replied, "Uh-huh."

Elian was taken aback.

He turned to glare at Miranda, "You don’t believe me?"

Miranda met his gaze for a moment, "I didn’t say that."

Elian fell silent, turning away to sulk.

What Miranda didn’t realize was that as soon as Elian found out Sebastian had practically announced her as his, he had rushed over to the Everhart estate.

Clearly, Miranda had no interest in Sebastian.

Seeing Elian's demeanor, Miranda couldn't help but smile a little.

"I'll be careful," she assured him.

Even though she knew Elian was jealous, his stubborn denial was kind of adorable.

Every word he spoke betrayed him.

His antics were endearing, even if a bit amateurish.

This wasn't the first time, either.

Hearing Miranda’s reassurance, Elian visibly brightened.

He started the car again.

To Miranda, it seemed as if an invisible tail was wagging happily behind him.
