Chapter 135
Willow came downstairs from the rooftop. Before Julian left, he cleaned up the apartinent and made sure it was spotless. However, he still couldn’t get rid of the faint, tantalizing air.
Snowy lay on the couch, its eyes dark and glistening. She walked over to pet it. Then, she sat on the couch for a long time, considering her options. Should she travel to Searheim to find out he truth, or should she remain ignorant of the truth forever?
Half an hour later, Willow dialed Annie’s number. “Book me the earliest flight to Searheim tomorrow.”
Annie was quite surprised. They didn’t have any clients or business at Searheim.
It was 8:00 am by the time Willow arrived at Brindley’s airport. When she was waiting for her flight, she received a phone call from Julian, who invited her for dinner. He told her that he had reserved the best restaurant in the city.
His voice was tender when he spoke. “Willow, it’s your birthday today.”
Huh?
It suddenly occurred to her that she got to know about Catherine’s presence on the same day last year. It turned out that a year had passed since then.
Gripping her phone, Willow responded gently, “Julian, I’ll see you tonight.”
Needless to say, he was thrilled when he heard what she said.
That was when an announcement could be heard from the speaker in the waiting room.
“Attention, all passengers boarding the flight to Searheim. We are going to start the boarding process for Flight TU3288. Please proceed to gate 36 for ticket check and boarding.”
Willow ended the call and headed to the business class lane. Two hours later, her plane touched down at Searheim airport.
The attorney who was picking her up was friendly and polite. “Hi, Ms. Harper. I’m Sean Franklin. You may address me by my
last name.”
Willow glanced at him. “Are you from Brindley?”
Sean chuckled, but he didn’t say anything.
She didn’t waste more words on him either. Instead, she stepped into the car. He made some arrangements, and she was able to
meet with Catherine at 2:00 pm.
When Willow saw Catherine, the latter was drastically different from how she used to look.
Catherine’s hair reached her ears, and she was so scrawny that there weren’t any flabby parts on her body. She stared at Willow
for a good while before she spoke.
“I’m aware that you are a Chapman now. Good on you.”
Willow met her gaze and asked softly, “What about the truth you promised me? I didn’t take a flight all the way to Searheim to listen to your nonsense.”
Catherine snickered. “Willow, still sitting on your high horse, I see I really hate this look on your face. You don’t have what it takes to be this arrogant.
“After I tell you the truth, you won’t be this cocky anymore. Instead, you’re going to see that you’re the butt of the joke because you’ve been living a lie. I have to say that I feel sorry and sad for you.”

Willow grinned indifferently. “My time is precious, and I didn’t come here to listen to your nonsense.”
Catherine asked, “Can I have a cigarette?”
Sean gestured at the staff standing to the side. Then, he handed agarette to her and very thoughtfully lit it for her.
