Chapter 17 

Perhaps sensing Emma’s low spirits, Waylon waved his hand and directly took her and her parents to Lena’s hometown for a change of scenery. 

Originally, he had planned to bring his wife along as well, but she was feeling unwell, so she had to stay home to rest. 

As for Waylon himself, he naturally stayed behind to take care of his wife and, in the process, tried to stop Braydon from going to find Emma. 

Due to the delay in the assistant’s message, Braydon still went to various events to meet Emma as he used to. 

The first time, he stood on the square blowing cold wind all night, not only did he not see Emma who was supposed to watch the fireworks with him, but also got himself soaked in the rain. 

Braydon fell ill as expected, but this time there was no woman to carefully take care of him and wipe away the night’s alcohol. 

The second time, he went to the bar he used to hate the most before to look for someone, although that bar was a clean one, but every person who entered had to drink three shots of strong liquor first. 

Braydon couldn’t drink alcohol anymore, ever since he had a stomach bleed from trying to stop Caitlin from drinking at the Lederer family villa. 

This time, Braydon still didn’t hesitate to drink it all in one gulp. 

He forced himself to take painful steps towards the room, but there was no sign of Emma inside. 

The third time, Braydon went to the seaside, but he almost got swept into the deep sea by the tide. 

The fourth time, Braydon went to the top of the highest mountain in Seattle, but he almost froze to death due to hypothermia up there.

When Braydon searched all over the city and couldn’t find any trace of Emma, he finally realized that Emma wasn’t in Seattle. 

So he used his influence again to find out that she and her parents had gone to Lena’s hometown. 

But in the end, he didn’t make it because all the tickets to Chicago, whether by plane, train, or car, were sold out. 

The latest tickets will also be issued in three days. 

Braydon knew that the Corsie family was teasing him, but he had no way to stop them.
