Chapter 517 Memories Ⅰ
*Zander*

In the dimly lit room, the soft glow highlighted my gaze fixed on a solitary figure slouched over the bar counter, her head resting on her arm as she sat on the barstool.

Selena Ardolf, the epitome of stubbornness and rebellion, had always been a challenge. I knew she couldn't handle the potent alcohols from my collection, specially crafted for werewolves. They were far too strong for normal humans or werewolves without a wolf to bear. That's precisely why I had forbidden her from

indulging in them. Yet, she persisted in sneaking in, just as she had done today, and the result was evident—she had passed out, succumbing to the potent drink's effects, just like she had in the past.

Taking a few cautious steps forward, I stood before her, peering closely at her

beautiful face. Her pink, full lips were slightly parted, and her enchanting hazel eyes remained closed. The smooth rise and fall of her breath indicated a peaceful slumber, and the stress and animosity she held for me were absent from her serene countenance. She didn't resemble my ex-mate, the one who had sought revenge against me.

What do you want, Selena Ardolf? And why are you doing this?

Is it for your criminal family?

I let out a weary sigh, watching her intently. It had been so long since I looked at her so closely.

"Kiss her," Lyon's voice echoed in my head as his words tinged with mischief and desire made me frown.

"What?!" I snapped back through the mind link.

"Kiss her, and you don't have to make excuses," Lyon taunted, his voice dripping with amusement. "She will never know."

"Shut up, Lyon!" I snarled through the mind link, trying to regain control over the intrusive thoughts invading my mind.

"Oh, you don't have the guts to kiss her?!" Lyon taunted further, his voice full of arrogance. "Then let me do this honor."

His words hit a nerve, and before I could fully comprehend what was happening, my gaze involuntarily dropped to her parted lips. They were so tempting and sweet. The memory of our last kiss two days ago suddenly flooded my mind. The taste of her, the way her lips molded perfectly against mine, it all came rushing back with an intensity that left me breathless.

"I can't kiss her when she's not in her senses!" I blurted out, my gaze fixed upon Selena's alluring sleeping form.

"So, it means you wanted to kiss her?" he questioned, a mischievous tone lacing his words. As if coming out of my trance, I frowned.

"No!" I breathed out, exasperated.

However, I chose to ignore him, pushing aside Lyon's words as I strode purposefully toward the Omega quarters. I moved with silent determination, my footsteps were

purposeful and resolute.

Silently, I entered her room, the door creaking slightly as it swung open. Carefully, I laid her down on the bed, my gaze momentarily captivated by the sight of her long, blonde curls cascading over her face. With a gentle touch, I swept the strands aside, revealing her peaceful expression. She was still asleep, oblivious to my presence.

"Goodnight, ex-mate," I whispered, my voice barely audible in the quiet room. Unable to resist, I trailed my fingers lightly along her cheek, the softness of her skin evoking a bittersweet ache within me. Memories of our time together resurfaced, mingling with the remnants of our shared connection.

"I still remember how she felt when you were balls deep inside her and..." Lyon's voice echoed in my head once again, his words tainted with his perverted desire.

My wolf's thoughts were intrusive, as he intentionally tried to remind me of the intimate moments we had shared.

"Lyon, for Goddess' sake, shut the fuck up!" I yelled, my frustration bursting forth. I couldn't let these thoughts consume me, couldn't let myself be driven to madness.

Before that strange and unsettling feeling took hold completely, I made a swift decision. With one last lingering look at Selena, I turned away, leaving the room and closing the door behind me. It was time to regain control, to distance myself from the past and focus on the present, even if it meant suppressing the remnants of what we once had.
