Chapter 107 Are You Mad at Me?
“I do. Mrs. Adam, you’ve got it twisted. I’m not into Ericko like that,” Maggie quickly set the record straight thinking back to what Nathael had said last night.
She wondered why he did push her a little harder because she would have said yes if he did.
Yet, deep down, she knew it would always be him.
Despite her own second–guessing, Maggie could not imagine being with anyone else.
Hearing this, Fiona felt a bit let down and went straight for the jugular with her next question, catching Maggie off guard, “So, when are you going to break it off?”
Phillip cleared his throat loudly.
Phillip could not stand to watch anymore and had to say something.
Ericko, feeling a headache coming on, was shocked to hear Maggie had a boyfriend, especially since Nathael did not strike him as the type to charm someone like her.
Fiona, though, seemed to really hit it off with Maggie, diving into deep conversation. Maggie, enjoying the vibe, stayed close to her mom, keeping her company and making sure she was having a good time.
Ericko watched the scene unfold with gentle eyes.
Remembering Nathael mentioning her stomach troubles and skipping breakfast, he quickly arranged for a breakfast delivery.
Initially feeling out of place, Maggie was persuaded by Fiona and Ericko to join them for the meal.
Time seemed to speed up as they enjoyed their morning.
When Fiona appeared slightly tired, Maggie decided it was time to say goodbye.
Grasping her hand, Fiona offered a heartfelt invitation, “Drop by my place sometime or come see me at work. Our home might not be filled with much, but our jewelry
ollection is vast. Pick anything you fancy.”
Maggie listened to Fiona’s generous words, yet her smile faltered.
Her family had always been kind–hearted.
Yet, in her previous life, her actions brought them undeserved distress, preventing them from finding happiness. Why did the Camerons seem to thrive?
No, Nathael had avenged her, ensuring their downfall was even more tragic.
Had Nathael not been concerned for her, he would have never left their side until her final moments. Still, she puzzled over why Joseph, after enduring so much, abruptly chose to kidnap her.
As Ericko accompanied her out of the hospital room, the two walked through the hospital gardens.

Chapter 107 Are You Mad at Me?
“Not yet, but it seems like it’ll happen soon,” Maggie admitted, her eyes drifting downwards.

Watching Maggie’s reaction, Ericko gently ruffled her hair, offering a gentle caution, “Take your time with this, he might not appreciate you rushing.”
Ericko understood Nathael was not that kind of person, yet he could not ignore the fact that Maggie was his sister.
Had Nathael’s feelings been directed elsewhere, perhaps his counsel would differ. However, his affection for his sister warranted some concessions.
“He won’t do that to me,” Maggie quickly came to Nathael’s defense.
She was certain of Nathael’s regard for her both in this lifetime and the previous one.
Ericko offered a smile, choosing to keep his thoughts to himself, “Alright, I’ll take your word for it.”
At his words, Maggie was struck by a sense of regret, recalling her past endeavors for Joseph. She quietly confessed, “Truth is, my judgment has been pretty awful.“.
The conversation then naturally veered towards their professional lives.
“I just got a call from the Camerons asking me to come back. They’re gearing up to debut the new jewelry line next month.”
Maggie took a moment before adding. “They’re really pushing the timeline, and Vanessa moving in with the Adams is a big reason why the jewelry company is getting off the ground so quickly.”
When Maggie got back to the ward from the night before, she found it empty.
The only traces of her previous visit were her coat from the day before and the untouched breakfast left in the lunch box on the table–nothing else remained.
Nathael was nowhere to be seen, which was a relief for Maggie.
She had worried he might have stayed waiting for her, which would have been a waste of his valuable time, given how busy he was.
Opening the lunch box, Maggie discovered it was filled with her favourites: a croissant and coffee from Garnet Street, plus some french toast and oatmeal, clearly intended for two. However, he did not touch any of them
Realising it was almost midday, Maggie decided the untouched breakfast could serve as her lunch.
Once she finished eating, she cleaned up the area and caught a taxi to head back to her school.
On the way, she thought to give Nathael a call, wondering if he might be upset with her absence.
If that was the case, she knew she would have to find a way to make it up to him.
She tried calling him but only encountered a busy signal, receiving no answer.
Confused, Maggie tried calling once more.
On the other end, Nathael was at his desk, his phone buzzing away. He watched it for a moment before. finally deciding to silence the call and slide the phone away, choosing not to
engage.
With her calls going unanswered, Maggie was left feeling uncertain and slightly worried.
He had not picked up her calls.
In a bid to reach out, she opened WhatsApp and sent a direct message. ‘Are you mad at me?”
