Chapter 114 Unexpected Encounter
Ericko didn’t respond, but he could guess the reason.
Because of Beth’s photos and videos, Nathael misunderstood Maggie’s relationship with him.
That day at the hospital, Maggie was preoccupied with Fiona’s illness, probably not noticing her own pale face and icy body.
Looking back, he likely didn’t realise he had held her fingers and draped a jacket over her.
It escaped her attention, but that didn’t mean Nathael hadn’t noticed.
Ericko still remembered the dangerous look in Nathael’s eyes when he spotted them. Ultimately, when Maggie chose to stay, Nathael probably thought she had chosen him.
“That’s me. I’m going home.” Maggie withdrew her thoughts, not expecting any answers from him.
She just yearned to vent a little of the frustration in her heart.
“Sure, contact me anytime,” Ericko said softly, his expression gentle.
Clearly, he also had no intention to explain.
If Nathael wasn’t speaking up, why should he interfere? If he wanted to reconcile with Maggie, he would have to resolve some misunderstandings on his own.
And letting him out cold might not be such a bad thing.
After parting on bad terms, Maggie hadn’t contacted Nathael again, nor had he sought her out.
The distance that had seemed too close between them felt like it had reverted to its starting point.
Perhaps their relationship was worse than before.
Maggie forced herself not to dwell on the breakup, staying busy with the jewelry company and venture capital firm registered in her name. She gathered the resources wheedled from Ronald and changed everything. Leo and Mia invested in both companies, and they formally started to operate.
Although Maggie understood jewelry design well, she lacked experience in running a company.
In her previous life, the Camerons would never have handed her such important responsibilities. After she became blind and disfigured, it all turned into wishful thinking.
When Ericko heard about her project, he assigned an experienced employee to assist her. With his assistance, the jewelry company progressed smoothly.
Leo managed the venture capital firm. Maggie drew on her past life’s memories and handed over potential projects to Leo for evaluation
Half a month later, Maggie boarded a flight to Yatria. The school sent her for a two–week exchange and study program.

Chapter 114 Unexpected Encounter
She never expected that as soon as she found her seat in first class, she’d see a familiar, handsome face.
Nathael was dressed in a navy blue suit, casually flipping through a book.
Maggie was stunned, genuinely not expecting such a coincidence.
It had been almost half a month since she last saw Nathael. Meeting him on the plane was truly unexpected.
Feeling her gaze, Nathael looked up.
In that moment, their eyes met. His face, still stern and deep, and his eyes, dark and unfathomable, gave away no emotion as he looked at her.
Maggie didn’t speak; the initial surprise in her eyes faded into calm.
After a brief exchange of looks, Nathael turned his attention back to his book. Maggie pouted slightly and decided not to initiate conversation.
Once the flight attendant helped her with the luggage, she settled down beside him.
Maggie opened the in–flight computer, randomly picked a movie, and started watching with her headphones on.
The movie was a motivational story about overcoming adversity, but listening to the foreign language dialogue, she couldn’t help feeling irritable.
Nathael turned a page.
He had a light scent of cold cedar.
Today, he wore a blue–striped tic.
Maggie struggled to keep her attention away from Nathael, but whether it was her heart or her eyes, they seemed to act on their own.
Maggie was engrossed in her thoughts as she adjusted her seat, only to discover that a blanket had covered her.
She turned to the flight attendant on the side and said earnestly, “You’re very kind.”
The flight attendant was momentarily stunned, then she broke into a bright smile and said, “This is my duty, and I’m glad to serve you.”
Nathael, who was flipping through his book nearby, paused for a moment, slightly irked.
Since she had just woken up, Maggie had a pretty good appetite. She picked out her favourite items to eat, considering the long journey ahead.
However, she inexplicably felt restrained and nervous due to her close proximity to Nathael.
“Please refill my wine glass.”
Maggie handed her glass to the flight attendant after clearing the table, intending to sip a little more to unwind.
During the conversation, she looked at Nathael in a challenging way, obviously not intending to let him. affect her mood.
But just when she was feeling joyful, a sudden turbulence occurred.
The plane hit strong turbulence and the red wine Maggie hadn’t finished spilled out.
Coincidentally, the flight attendant was standing on Nathael’s side, and the direction in which she passed the wine glass was right in front of Nathael.
In an instant, the wine splashed.
Chapter 114 Unexpected Encounter
The red color instantly spread over Nathael’s body. Not too much; those that drenched into the suit weren’t visible, but the red hue was strikingly conspicuous on the white shirt.
Maggie was speechless.
She wondered whether Nathael would believe her if she swore it wasn’t on purpose.
