Chapter 246 Rushing Everything Through in Half a Year
Maggie was confused upon hearing what was said.
Getting married?
She did hope that Mrs. Harris wouldn’t dislike her as she did in her previous life. But why was the idea of getting married brought up suddenly?
Things seemed to escalate quickly.
Besides, she won’t be thinking about getting married, given her current health condition.
All of a sudden, she came to realise.
The thoughts of getting married to him and growing old together were just fantasies that wouldn’t work out. It was just an unreachable dream.
She was instantly diffident.
She couldn’t give him anything but still clung on to him. It made her feel like she was an irresponsible
person.
She was impeding him and herself too.
But she could only hope for temporary happiness.
Maggie looked at Mrs. Harris and said, “I think it’s too soon to talk about marriage. We can take it slow.”
Mrs. Harris didn’t expect to hear such an answer from her.
Nathael was always the most popular bachelor. Many had tried to work their way up to tie him down.
But Maggie was not like the others. She turned it down.
She admitted to herself that she did think that her son was losing his mind or that the girl was getting pregnant on purpose to extort him.
But she knew her son too well. He wouldn’t let anything against his will happen,
Maggie was lost for words.
Half a year is not enough to prepare a wedding?
She couldn’t help but ask, “Why does it have to be done within half a year?”
There was a moment of silence after Maggie’s question. Nathael’s parents were not keen on socialising, but they had indeed seen through a lot.
Even so, they were still speechless at what their future daughter–in–law had asked.
Demi Harris was looking at Nathael and Maggie. She couldn’t help but think to herself, You’ll be very pregnant in half a year, Maggie. Isn’t it better to get married before delivering a baby than after it?
And apparently, Nathael’s parents were trying to rush it before Maggie was too pregnant.
Mrs. Harris didn’t mention that they still had a concern other than the pregnancy. It was the old Mr. Harris.
Old Mr. Harris wouldn’t agree to this marriage between Nathael and Maggie,
