“Are you mad? I figured you’d be curious to see your old self,” Timmothy remarked, twirling a pair of walnuts in his hand nonchalantly.

But the more she did, the more irked she felt.

After over an hour, the design plan was finally settled. Maggie looked at him and said, “You went to great lengths to get close to me. It can’t just be for a design plan.”

Timmothy smiled and looked directly at Maggie. “Do you like Nathael? Or is it just to make up for past regrets?”

“That’s none of your concern,” Maggie Adam replied coldly.

Timmothy persisted. “I hope you’ll break up with him.”

Unable to hold back, Maggie snapped, “Are you crazy?”

Timmothy seemed amused. He leaned in a bit closer to Maggie, his beautiful eyes locking onto hers. For the first time, a hint of cunning and madness flickered in his pale, handsome face, and his bright eyes gleamed with an almost predatory light, as if he had found his prey.

“I wonder if Nathael knew about your past actions. Would he choose to walk away or be heartbroken?”

Maggie finally saw paranoia and darkness in that handsome yet pale face–something twisted and insane.

“Are you threatening me with this?” Maggie’s fingertips curled slightly, her heart pounding in her chest.

Undeniably, she didn’t even dare to think about that scenario.

She was scared of letting Nathael down, scared of him finding out about her past schemes and betrayal, and scared of him knowing her eventual fate.
