Chapter 373 Sierra’s Scheme

When evening fell, Maggic hastened to shower upon her return, anticipating Nathael’s imminent arrival.

After all, the aroma emanating from her medicine concoctions during her clinic hours was quite potent. She couldn’t shake off the strong medicinal scent clinging to her body.

Upon completing her shower, Nathael returned, prompting her arms to instinctively clench.

Observing the long–sleeved pyjamas she had donned, effectively concealing the needle punctures on her arm, she eased into a sense of relief.

“Did you arrive back? Why didn’t you call me?” Nathael enfolded her tenderly, his hands finding solace on her waist, and tenderly planted a kiss on her forehead.

“I arrived home recently. Leo offered me a lift, so I refrained from troubling you.”

Nathael chuckled, his gaze intensifying. “You appear quite familiar with him.”

Maggie leaned in, her arms encircling his neck as she planted a gentle kiss on his lips, whispering, “It doesn’t compare to being close to you.”

A shadow flickered across Nathael’s eyes. The notion of her intimacy with others ignited a fierce jealousy within him.

“You naughty girl!” His voice rumbled, low and husky, as he swept her up and placed her gently on the dining table. His fingers lightly gripped her chin before capturing her lips in a kiss.

“Did you have a good day today?” Nathael inquired softly.

“Yes, I did. Now, off to the shower with you,” Maggie replied, cautious not to divulge too many details to him.

As Nathael showered, she perused the vegetables in the refrigerator, swiftly preparing two dishes and a soup.

Following their meal, Maggie settled into the living room, engrossed in a movie, with Nathael by her side, multitasking with his work.

Yet Maggie found herself unable to focus on the movie before her.

How could she delicately approach the topic of breaking up? The overwhelming displays of affection made crafting a reason for the breakup exceedingly challenging.

Her gaze lifted to the man seated beside the coffee table. His countenance. exuded an air of icy precision. His visage was pristine and striking, as if sculpted by divine hands. His chiselled nose, elevated and elegant, possessed a delicate refinement uncharacteristic of masculinity.

However, when viewed head–on, his demeanour lacked any hint of femininity. His sharp eyes held a depth akin to the abyss, inexplicably captivating.

Though Nathael seemed disinterested in the movie, he keenly sensed Maggie’s gaze upon him.

“What’s on your mind?” He inquired, turning towards her with a deep, resonant voice.

Maggie snapped out of her reverie, flashing a mischievous grin. “What else could occupy my thoughts but admiring your stunning features?”

Nathael chuckled, extending his hand to draw her from the sofa to the carpet, enveloping her in his embrace.

From behind, he wrapped his arms around her, planting a tender kiss on her earlobe before murmuring in a low tone, “Do you want to do it?”

A blush crept across Maggie’s cheeks as she turned her head to the side, her snow–white neck grazing against his lips.

“No, I’m just a little girl.”

“Really?” Nathael beamed, lifting her gently and leading her towards the bedroom in his arms.

Gently laying Maggie on the bed, Nathael closed the door behind him. As he did, she reached to switch off the bedroom light, a twinge of fear gripping her at the thought of him seeing her bruised arms.

Today, Nathael displayed unusual tenderness, his fingertips trailing lightly over her skin, sending tingles of electricity through her.

His soft and moist lips evoked involuntary tremors in Maggie wherever they grazed.

Amidst the joy, a pang of pain lingered, torn between surrendering entirely to happiness and the relentless echoes of Iris‘ words in her mind.

On this particular day, it felt as though both love and life were hurtling towards an inevitable conclusion.

Despite Timmothy’s playful banter and her own boldness in confronting him, Maggie couldn’t afford to underestimate the weight of their agreement.

“Ehm…”

bruptly lowering himself, Nathael elicited an involuntary moan from Maggie, who instinctively tightened her embrace..

“You seem distracted.” Nathael’s voice was hushed as he peered down at the woman beneath him, resembling both a radiant lily and an enigmatic blossom in a mountain stream.

Maggie was on the brink of consenting, acknowledging the soreness in her legs.

But then, recalling the bruises on her arms, she quickly changed her tune, exclaiming, “Absolutely not! Who knows what mischief you’ll get up to once we’re in the bathroom!”

Coincidentally, Nathael’s phone chimed at that precise instant.

Nathael, clad in nothing but shorts, answered the phone and made his way to the living room. “Go ahead.”

Alex uttered in hushed tones,” Sierra has hired mercenaries.”

Nathael emitted a chilly chuckle. “Did she attempt to eliminate Nana?”

Alex hesitated before continuing, “She intends to drug Ms. Adam with a substantial dose of narcotics. Additionally, she aims to incapacitate Ms. Adam by blinding her and inflicting facial injuries.”

Following his statement, Alex lapsed into a brief silence.

Indeed, the extent of Sierra’s cruelty surpassed his wildest imagination.

While he was aware that Sierra wasn’t a virtuous individual, he never anticipated her ruthlessness towards Maggie, who had been by her side for over a decade.

Aware that Maggie had been laying traps for Sierra, Alex perceived Maggie differently. In his view, she wasn’t the type to harm others without cause. Despite plotting against Sierra on multiple occasions, she had never entertained such malevolent tactics.

Nathael sneered, “She dares to scheme! Keep a close watch on her.”

“Yes,” Alex responded.

Chapter 373 Siena’s Scheme

Unbeknownst to Sierra, Nathael had been informed of her dealings with the drug dealer and mercenaries since their very inception.

Yet, Alex dedicated considerable time to surveilling their activities, delving into their backgrounds for investigation.

Upon learning that Maggie intended to shower, Nathael refrained from hastening to his room. Instead, he retrieved a cigarette and contemplated lighting it, but recalled her aversion to the smell of smoke and thus returned the cigarette to its pack.

His intense eyes darkened with an icy intensity. Despite his attempts to maintain composure, the very notion of Sierra’s malevolent intentions stirred an ineffable fury within him.
