The golden dragon glowered at the Dark Messenger, letting out a howl of fury.

Wilbur could sense a powerful vortex made of dragon aura the next second and was sucked into the mirage before he could even react. The mirage began to disperse right after that, slowly disappearing out of sight.

The Dark Messenger hovered in mid-air, gritting his teeth as he clenched his fists. "F*cking bastard jumped into the mirage! Stay in there for the rest of your life if you want to see the end of it! I'll kill you the second you come out!"

Upon saying those words, the Dark Messenger disappeared as well. The battle between him and Wilbur had happened too far away from land, and there were cultivators who showed up at Wendis to search for the secret behind those mirages all the time, so their fight did not stir up much of a ruckus.

The people on the beach were still marveling at the beauty of the mirage, sighing wistfully at how short it had lasted.

Over on another end, the Aqua Dragon, Orkot, opened his eyes from where he was lying at the bottom of a lake. Delight flashed in his gaze as he said, "That kid made it into the mirage after all! Well, it's up to him from here on out. That mirage is pretty much a middle dimension."

Wilbur landed on the shores of Windis in the mirage. He coughed up mouthfuls of blood as he looked up at the sky. The opening in the clouds was growing smaller and smaller before disappearing completely. Wilbur finally heaved a sigh of relief.

The mirage looked just like Windis, but it was still a completely different dimension. At the very least, entering the mirage helped Wilbur temporarily escape the Dark Messenger's pursuit.

However, Wilbur knew that this was just the first step. If he could not improve his cultivation here, he was doomed to be slaughtered by the Dark Messenger and the Dark Lord the moment he returned to Earth.

Wilbur blinked before breaking out into a sprint toward the lake. He crouched over by the bank, lowered his hands into the water, and started drinking greedily.
