Upon quenching his thirst, Wilbur looked at the still lake and was able to see his reflection in the water. Suddenly, the Dark Messenger's voice could be heard coming from behind him, "I finally found you, Wilbur Penn."

Wilbur whipped around to see the Dark Messenger standing a dozen or so meters away from him, staring him down with an icy glare.

Wilbur scrambled to get to his feet, frowning at the Dark Messenger. "What… How are you here?"

The Dark Messenger scoffed. "You should be asking yourself that."

"Me?"

"Take this, Wilbur Penn!"

The Dark Messenger came charging towards Wilbur with a black sword in his grasp, stabbing at Wilbur's chest viciously. The sword pierced through Wilbur's body, and he collapsed to the ground unconscious.

Wilbur thought that he would be dead, but he soon felt rainwater beating down on his face. He sat up, looked around him, and saw that he was on Kook Island.

"What the…"

There was a searing pain in his chest, and Wilbur yanked his shirt open to take a look. There was no wound in sight, but Wilbur clearly remembered the Dark Messenger stabbing him right through the chest.

Realization struck Wilbur all at once. "That's why the Dark Messenger showed up! He stabbed me in the chest but there was no wound, which meant that he wasn't the actual Dark Messenger and just a figment of my imagination!"

Just as the words rang through the air, Wilbur's surroundings began to fade before disappearing altogether.

"Wait… Child of Light!"

Wilbur took off the Light Helmet on his head, his gaze flashing. "I understand now. Thank you, Child of Light."
