It was as if all his hard work from before had gone to waste. His shock was soon replaced with rage as Wilbur glowered at the Dark Messenger. "I'm going to kill you!"

"You? I'll have you know that I wanted to kill you from the start. Now that you've shown up to be killed, I'd be happy to take your life!"

The Dark Messenger sprinted toward Wilbur, who charged at him as well. The Dark Messenger swung the sword in his grasp at Wilbur.

Wilbur responded with a punch, and a golden dragon appeared behind the Dark Messenger at once. The Dark Messenger had sensed the presence of the dragon as well and widened his eyes in shock. Yet, before he could do anything, the golden dragon had pierced through his body from the back and shot out through his chest.

The golden dragon cried out in fury, its rampant dragon aura tearing the Dark Messenger into pieces as he dissolved into a cloud of black miasma. Wilbur clenched his fists at the sight, his chest boiling with rage.

At the same time, the Dark Lord's eyes flew open from where he was absorbing dark energy in the middle of the core ancient formation far away. "When did this imbecile become so powerful?"

Just then, a voice entered the Dark Lord's head. "Let me kill him, Master."

"No, there's no need for that. Give me all the energy you've absorbed. As long as one more formation exists, my plan will still succeed."
