Following that, Wilbur walked toward the ancient formation. He spread out his dragon aura to search for it, but the ancient formation seemed to have a mind of its own. Dark energy spread out as soon as it detected Wilbur's dragon aura, trying to crush it to pieces.

Nonetheless, the dragon aura remained strong. It condensed itself before finally breaking into the ancient formation, then kicked up a dragon aura storm that destroyed the original ancient formation, causing the black miasma in the middle to disappear at once.

After destroying the first ancient formation, Wilbur immediately flew toward the second one. He had seen the layout of the nine ancient formations through the Arcane Formation and thus knew where the remaining eight were.

The next day, Wilbur destroyed seven ancient formations. The seven Dark Messengers guarding them were rather weak, which Wilbur found rather surprising. He had destroyed eight ancient formations in total but still did not dare relax as he knew that he had only beaten the clones of the Dark Lord.

Eight out of the nine ancient formations had been destroyed, and only the core formation was left. Wilbur soared into the air and made his way to the core ancient formation.

He arrived two hours later and was greeted with an ancient formation several times bigger than the last eight he had seen. Wilbur saw the Dark Lord standing in the middle of the formation core, continuing to absorb the dark energy from the formation.

A clone split out of the Dark Lord as if he had sensed Wilbur's appearance. The clone walked out of the formation, making its way toward Wilbur.

"You've killed eight of my clones, Wilbur Penn. Why won't you let me go?"

Wilbur looked at the Dark Lord's clone. "I would never make an enemy of you if you were just a regular cultivator on Earth, but you have other intentions."

"You're not wrong there. Wilbur Penn, you're the first person to speak to me in such a tone. I hope you know you aren't a match for me. However, I do admire your strength. If you swear loyalty to me, I could make you one of my men. You shall be an elite, only second to one. How does that sound?"

Wilbur's voice was cold. "You are the enemy, and nothing else. You better start moving if you don't want to die a ninth time."

The Dark Lord greatly resented that Wilbur had killed eight of his clones, and that was exactly why Wilbur had said those words.

The Dark Lord glowered at Wilbur, reaching out with his right hand. His right palm grew in size and wrapped itself around Wilbur's neck before he could even speak.

"You're nothing more than a lower-dimension cultivator! What right do you have to even battle me? Take this, Wilbur Penn!"
