Chapter 105
Feeling completely baffled, everyone watched Angela leave decisively.
What was going on? Did they see it wrong? Was this really Angela? She seemed like a completely different person now.
“Dexter, don’t be mad. Angela might really have something to take care of. It’s fine. I’ll take you home later. I know where you live,” Elena said softly.
The others exchanged glances, each understanding the unspoken meaning.
Suddenly, Dexter stood up like he had sobered up. He ignored everyone who tried to stop him and walked out.
“I just parked for a moment. I came in to pick someone up. Can’t you make an exception, officer?”
Angela was at the entrance, pleading with a traffic police officer. But she still got a hundred -dollar fine.
She felt resentful. It was all Dexter’s fault!
She opened the car door and climbed in, ready to start the engine.
Just then, someone banged on her window.
Angela turned and saw Dexter’s brooding face, his eyes fixed on her intently.
Hadn’t he refused to leave? Hadn’t he said he didn’t need her?
She didn’t want to pay him any attention, but she remembered the clash she’d just had with Fiona. She didn’t want any more trouble. It was better to avoid a scene.
So, she unlocked the back door. But Dexter didn’t move. He insisted on sitting in the passenger seat. Angela told herself not to argue with an unreasonable drunk.
On the way back, the car was completely silent, and the tension was palpable. Angela pretended not to notice and turned on the radio.
She was getting much better at controlling her emotions. She focused on taking care of herself, including her mental well–being.
As she hummed along to a few lines of the song, a large hand reached over and switched off the music.
“Shut up!” Dexter pressed a hand to his forehead and glared at her.
Angela took a deep breath. She had just managed to steady herself, and he had ruined it. She couldn’t hold back anymore.

She pulled over. “Get out!”
Dexter looked at her with disbelief.
“I didn’t even want to pick you up. You wouldn’t leave when I asked, and I ended up with a hundred–dollar ticket. I barely got over paying that, and now you won’t even let me sing. You’re such a pain. Get out and walk home on your own. I’m done,” she said coldly, her words coming out fast.
Dexter stared at her for a few seconds, then tapped on his phone to transfer ten thousand dollars to her. “There. That covers the fine and some gas. Now drive!”
Angela started the engine and took Dexter to Bamford Manor.
When they arrived, Dexter refused to get out. “I want to go to your place. I have something to talk about with you.”
“I don’t host guests anymore. You’ve been freeloading long enough.” Angela let out a cold
snort.
Moments later, she got a notification of a transfer of 100 thousand dollars.
About 20 minutes later, they arrived at Villa Heights.
Angela walked straight into the living room and began organizing the items she’d bought. Bellador was going to be cold this time of year, so she had gotten two heavy coats, a sweater dress, and some other gear for warmth.
“This one’s for Clara. This one’s for Alan. These gloves are for Allison…”
Angela was busy with her task and didn’t look at Dexter.
Dexter was seething, yet he had nowhere to vent his anger. He honestly felt like she had thrown him off balance.
“Angela,” he said coldly, sitting on the couch. “You told my mom about our divorce. You’ve broken our agreement.”
