Chapter 202 novel Love and Devotion No Longer His to Claim (Angela and Dexter)
Angela's face lit up with joy before she quickly walked over.
"Congratulations on finally getting what you wanted," Finn said with a gentle and elegant smile.
There was an indescribable warmth about him that made people feel comforted.
"It's also thanks to you. Let's go grab a bite. How about I treat you to some barbecue?" Angela suggested with a smile.
"The barbecue out here isn't good." Finn showed a slight frown.
Angela replied without hesitation, "Then let's go to my place. I'll cook, but you'll have to help."
The two went to the market together and bought a lot of ingredients. After some time preparing everything, they had the portable grill and ingredients ready by seven.
The large living room was filled with the aroma of meat.
Angela took a few oranges from the fridge to make juice and poured it into two large glasses, then handed one to Finn.
He gladly accepted it. Just as the two were about to clink glasses and start eating, the door was pushed open from outside.
Angela looked toward the newcomer. As their eyes met, the air seemed to instantly freeze.
Dexter?
Why was he back now?
Hadn't he been working overtime recently? They hadn't even spoken much lately.
"What's he doing here?" Dexter frowned, glaring at Angela with a hint of displeasure in his voice.
Angela didn't want to make things awkward and ruin the mood, so she replied, "He helped me out before, so I invited him over for a meal."
She turned to stare at Dexter with a cold expression. "Mr. Bamford, you shouldn't humiliate me in front of my friend."
"Then you shouldn't forget that our agreement doesn't end for another two years. What you're doing is essentially telling others that our relationship is over. You're breaching the contract!"
Dexter's face was grim, though he himself didn't even understand where his anger was coming from. All he knew was that seeing Angela happily eating with another man infuriated him.
He couldn't explain the anger—it weighed heavily on his chest, suffocating him.
"I didn't tell Finn about it so he doesn't know," Angela uttered, suppressing her irritation. "Besides, more people know about our situation now that Grandpa knows. I wasn't the only one responsible for causing this, so there's no guarantee he won't reveal it to others."
Her expression was cold, and she deliberately stayed two feet away from him. Nevertheless, she still had to tilt her head up to meet his eyes as he was a full head taller than her.
"But you brought Snowden to your house, knowing full well he has ulterior motives toward you!" Dexter seemed to grow angrier by the second. He could barely hold it in.
"The agreement period isn't over yet, and you're already in a rush to find a replacement? Angela, just how impatient are you?" His fury was terrifying. He was like an enraged lion; the sight of him could send chills down anyone's spine.
