Lately, Angela and Dexter had been living together rather peacefully. Angela had never seen Dexter this angry before—it was entirely unlike him.

"Did you forget? This is my house." she sneered coldly. "You're just a guest here."

Dexter was momentarily at a loss for words. His retort was caught in his throat.

"Angela, don't be angry anymore. Since Mr. Bamford is back, why don't we just eat together? There's no need for all this tension." Finn spoke up as he knocked lightly on the door from outside.

Angela let out a disdainful huff before opening the door to step out.

Finn was standing there with his signature gentle smile, his demeanor so refined that it was hard to refuse him.

"Mr. Bamford, would you like to join us?" Finn asked politely.

Angela believed Dexter would never swallow his pride and agree.

"Sure."

To Angela's surprise, Dexter actually headed to the kitchen, grabbed a plate, and sat down at the table.

Angela was dumbfounded.

Why was Dexter suddenly acting like this?

"Come on, don't be upset," Finn said, patting her shoulder comfortingly with a smile.

And so, their awkward dinner commenced.

Angela sat in the middle, piling up the grill with meat. With a cold expression, she picked up some grilled vegetables and dipped them in dipping sauce before stuffing them into her mouth.

But no sooner had she taken a mouthful than she began coughing uncontrollably.

Finn immediately stood up to pour her a glass of warm water, even patting her back in a flustered manner. "Eat slower. No one's going to take your food from you."

His tone was as gentle as his actions. The contrast between him and Dexter couldn't have been starker.

Finn and Angela arranged a time to meet up that weekend.

Mount Whickmore was indeed not far from the city center, but to avoid any incidents, Angela invited Joanne to come along as well.

"Who's this?" Finn was a bit surprised upon seeing Joanne. He could sense her commanding air and found her a little intimidating.

"This is Joanne Barnes, my bodyguard." Angela then continued with a proud smile, "She's incredible. Madam Fiona hired her for me."

Finn politely greeted Joanne, who responded with a nod. Her sharp gaze, however, scrutinized Finn as though sizing him up.

"Angela, there's someone else coming," Joanne added, sounding somewhat helpless as she sighed lightly. "The boss insisted on tagging along. There was nothing I could do."

Boss?

Angela thought Joanne must be talking about Fiona. So, she waved her hand dismissively. "It's fine. Where is she? Let's all head out together. The more, the merrier. We can even have a barbecue at the farm-to-table restaurant at the foot of the mountain later."
