Andrew's face darkened even more. He took two steps back, a hint of fear flashing in his eyes.
Angela continued, "Let me be honest with you. If you had simply stayed in your lane as COO and done your job without making mistakes or causing trouble, I would have tolerated you.
"I might have even ensured that the company supported you in your retirement. Alas, why couldn't you just do so? Why must you insist on opposing me and forcing my hand?"
Angela sighed softly. "Now that everything has been laid out on the table, you should understand where my resolve is coming from. So, I'll give you two choices.
"One—you voluntarily leave the headquarters and take a cushy position at one of Graham Group's subsidiaries for your retirement. Two—you can continue to oppose me, and I'll send Sean straight to the police."
"You insolent brat!" Andrew roared, humiliated and furious. "You're just a young woman—do you really think you're all that? How dare you challenge me?"
"Haven't you already seen for yourself whether I dare to or not? Why waste words embarrassing yourself further?" Angela scoffed.
Facing the enraged Andrew, she felt no fear—only exhilaration. She could feel her power. She was no longer the weak and helpless Angela of the past. Now, she had strength and the ability to take responsibility for her own choices.
"Angela, aren't you afraid of making others lose faith in you? Do you not recognize the contributions my father has made to this company?" Sean's face was also twisted with anger, his eyes burning with hatred as if he wanted to tear her apart.
"That is precisely why I do not want to see your reputation and future ruined. You should be grateful for my mercy rather than barking at me like a stray dog." Angela sat down, crossing her legs with an air of elegance.
Andrew remained silent for a long time, clearly scheming something once again.
"Fine. I'll give you guys three days to consider. If you still haven't reached a decision by then, I'll handle things my way. By then, don't say I didn't try to show mercy."
With that, Angela stood up and left, feeling lighter than she had in a long time.
Inside the vast office, only Andrew, Sean—both wearing complex expressions—and the head of security remained.
"Good thing you told me," she said. "I even brought some ravioli. Want some?"
Fiona looked surprised, as if she hadn't expected Angela to be this calm and indifferent.
"You're not even a little curious about what happened? Is ravioli all you care about?"
Angela shrugged. "I believe in not meddling in things that don't concern me. I have no interest in Ms. Carrey's affairs."
"What if she attempted suicide and is now clinging to Dexter—your husband, even if only in name? You're not going to do anything about it?" Fiona raised an eyebrow at Angela.
Angela's expression stiffened slightly. "Suicide?"
How desperate must Elena have been?
