Simon was already waiting. 

Angela spotted him standing by the floor–to–ceiling windows and quickly adjusted her expression before preparing to approach him with a bright smile. 

A sudden force yanked her out of the private room and into the stairwell corner. 

“Dexter, what… what are you doing?” She was utterly stunned when she saw him. 

Did he hold such a grudge against her that he had to pick this exact moment to seek revenge? 

“Shh!” Dexter pulled her into another private room. Angela shoved him away with all her strength before he could explain. 

She rubbed her wrist in disdain. “What are you doing? Are you here to ruin things for me again?” 

He was so frustrated that his face darkened. 

He sneered and stepped forward to pull her into his arms. His hands slid down to her lower back, pressing against her exposed skin. 

A sudden heat washed over and startled her. 

Why did this feel different? 

“You fool. There’s a huge tear in your dress. Your backside is practically exposed! Didn’t you notice at all?” Dexter snapped and glared at her. “You’re always doing something to embarrass yourself. You’re unbelievable!” 

She immediately turned to look down at her back. 

A patch of her bare skin had indeed been exposed. The lacy edge of her underwear had even peeked through. 

“What am I supposed to do?” She instantly panicked. There were less than ten minutes left until her scheduled dinner. Where could she find a change of clothes in time? 

“Beg me.” Dexter raised his eyebrows. “I’ll help you if you beg me.” 

Angela took a deep breath. However, the words she was about to say caught in her throat when she saw his gloomy face. 

“You’re despicable.” Her eyes teared up as she stared at him like he was a heartless traitor. 

She didn’t need to say anything else. Her expression alone conveyed a thousand grievances.

He was slightly stunned. His chest inexplicably tightened at the sight of her tearful and anxious eyes. 

What kind of spell was she casting on him? 

“Fine! I’ll go out with my backside exposed if you don’t help me. You and I will end up both being embarrassed!” 

Angela struggled off his grip and turned around to leave. 

The tear in her dress widened further as she walked. The edge of her underwear was fully revealed now. 

Dexter couldn’t stand it any longer. 

He abruptly grabbed her wrist. “You’re impossible!” 

She arrived punctually at the restaurant’s private room by 7:00 pm. 

Callum made the reservation for the private room which sprawled around 430 square feet. 

Three walls were lined with floor–to–ceiling windows, offering an expansive view of Eldmere City’s glittering nightscape. 

“Ms. Graham, you look absolutely stunning. This dress suits you perfectly.” Simon stepped forward with a smile and shook her hand in a gentlemanly manner before pulling out a chair for her. 

Angela responded with a polite smile, seating herself gracefully. She returned his compliment with a few thoughtful words of her own, exuding confidence and charm that left a favorable impression. 

The dress Dexter had handed her was a strappy mermaid gown with an asymmetrical shoulder design. It accentuated her curves beautifully, lending her a captivating allure. She had applied light makeup today, perfectly balancing the rich femininity of her outfit. She appeared poised and elegant with none of the overly accommodating vibes that might undermine her presence. 

The dinner was a major event closely watched by the entire fashion industry. There was no room for error. 

“Ms. Graham, I believe I saw you a few years ago during a design competition in Drosmire if I’m not mistaken. I think you were working alongside another renowned designer back then and surrounded by admiration wherever you went. But now, why is that…”
