After downing an entire bottle of strong liquor, Santiago flipped to his feet 

with surprising agility. Swaying slightly, he flashed a grin at Emmanuel. “Want 

a bottle too?* 

With a flick of his wrist, four large gourd–shaped wine bottles dangled from 

his belt. 

Everyone around was stunned. 

What kind of drunk carries around gallons of booze? 

“Why not? Hand me one!” 

Emmanuel was ready to warm up, and with a flick of his wrist, he shrugged 

off his jacket. 

Santiago smirked and, with a snap of his fingers, sent one of the bottles flying

right into Emmanuel’s hand. 

Their smooth, effortless coordination was mesmetting capturing the 

attention of everyone watching. 

“Quick! Do as Emmanuel says and get the helicopters and engineeing teone 

ready!* 

Ethan wasted no time, issuing commands without hesitation. 

His assistants scrambled to carry out his commands. 

Meanwhile, Chester, who had previously shown no interest in the disaster 

relief efforts–it wasn’t his job or responsibility–couldn’t help but throw in a 

snide remark. 

“Mr. Hale, what you’re doing is pointless! There’s no way human strength can 

handle this. You’re just sending them to their deaths!” 

As a top–tier martial artist himself, Chester knew his own limits. Jumping into 

a raging flood was a death sentence, let alone trying to hold up boulders

room for doubt. 

At his level of leadership, trust was everything. He knew when to let go of

Since Emmanuel and Santiago had volunteered and were making every 

effort to prepare, he had to back them up. 

Chester snorted quietly, choosing not to say anything further. He had said his 

piece. If Emmanuel wanted to risk his neck, that was his choice. 

Soon enough, the helicopters hoisted two massive boulders into the air. 

These rocks, while huge to the human eye, seemed insignificant against the 

might of the floodwaters. 

The plan was for the stones to plug the broken dam–if Emmanuel and 

Santiago could hold them in place long enough for the crew to reinforce and

Santiago had finished off every last drop of liquor and was already swaying 

on his feet. 

Just when everyone thought he was about to collapse, he suddenly struck a 

strange pose. His legs rooted into the ground, and suddenly, the air around 

him shifted. It was as if a powerful ripple spread from his body, causing those 

nearby to stumble from the sheer force. 

With one leg planted firmly on the ground, there was a thunderous shift in the 

air. A powerful aura rippled outward, sweeping over the crowd like a wave, 

causing even the onlookers to lose their balance. 

The entire crowd was in shock. 

Even Chester’s expression shifted to one of disbelief. Who is this old man? 

And how could he possess such power?

While the old drunk had been drinking, Emmanuel had been tightly clutching 

the Heart of the Sun. 

It was something he carried with him, meant to heal Hattie Zelinsky once they 

made it back to Zovince. 

Ever since Emmanuel returned from Dark Night Islands, he had been studying 

the Heart of the Sun in his spare time. He discovered that whenever he 

practiced the “Art of Adaptability” technique, the stone’s energy resonated 

with his own. 

The resonance was particularly strong when he entered deep meditation. 

Today, he planned to harness the power of the stone to repair the dam and 

help the people. 

“Let’s get moving!” Santiago called out, wobbling as he suddenly jumped 

straight into the roaring floodwaters below.

Everyone watching from the mountainside gasped in horror at the sight. 

But a second later, their shock turned to amazement.

With no boats on–site and no vessel capable of braving such fierce currents, 

Santiago was now literally walking on water, hopping from one floating object 

to another as he made his way toward the broken dam. 

It was a sight unlike anything they had ever witnessed before. 

“That’s… incredible!” Ethan marveled, unable to hold back his awe. 

Emmanuel couldn’t help but smile wryly. Santiago is going all out to get back 

to his peak and even push beyond it. 

If that’s the case, I have no choice but to give it my all, too! 

“Let’s do this!” 

With a mighty roar, Emmanuel gathered his energy and leaped into the 

water. For a moment, it seemed like he had disappeared beneath the waves,

but then, just as suddenly, he shot up, using the floating debris to catch up to 

Santiago, 

“Heh, not bad, kid!” Santiago called back, “But the real show’s just starting. If 

you don’t want to die, you better give it your all!” 

“I’m all in!” Emmanuel yelled, his voice echoing as he signaled to the 

helicopter above. “Drop the boulders!” 

“Lower them!” Ethan shouted from the shore, his voice carrying over the 

rushing water. 

Clank, clank, clank. 

The iron cables of the helicopter creaked as they began to lower two 

massive boulders into the raging river. The splash they made was immense, 

sending waves crashing up onto the banks. 

Boom! 

Water sprayed everywhere, soaking Ethan and his team as they stood near

the dam. 

His assistant and the others were drenched, too, but no one cared about 

that. 

All eyes were fixed on the scene unfolding before them. 

“They’re in!” Santiago shouted as he dove into the water. 

“Let’s go!” Emmanuel hollered, diving in right behind him like a general 

charging into battle. 

“It’s no good! The current is pushing the stones away!” 

“They’re about to be swept off!” 

The situation seemed dire again, and everyone held their breath, fearing 

disaster. 

But gradually, their expressions began to change.
