Plans don’t always work out. I hadn’t even taken a picture of Emerald Lake when I had an asthma attack and was sent to the hospital.

As I fainted, I subconsciously dialed my emergency contact, Manuela.

The moment the call connected, I heard the disgusting sound of them making out. It was quickly hung up after a few seconds.

My heart finally sank completely. I couldn’t accept it. I passed out, heartbroken.

When I woke up, the woman was sitting by my bedside, looking at me nervously. "You have asthma and altitude sickness. Why did you still insist on traveling?”

"My wife cheated on me. I came to vent. If I stay at home any longer, I’m afraid I’ll either kill myself or kill her.”

She was probably surprised by my directness and felt a little embarrassed. She took her phone out of her pocket and opened it.

There were countless photos of Emerald Lake from different angles, beautiful enough to take your breath away.

"I took these while you were unconscious. Look at them. Maybe you’ll feel a little better.”

I stared for a long time, my eyes getting red little by little. Finally, I figured it out. A woman who betrays and lies isn’t worth dying for.

Over the next few days, I completed the trip with this woman. We explored everything.

She said my mom had a heart attack and was sent to the hospital. Her condition was very serious, and she needed someone to sign the surgery papers immediately.

I was in a panic. I hung up the phone and immediately called Manuela.

It wasn’t until the eighth call that she answered. Her voice was husky and groggy, like someone who hadn’t woken up yet. She was in a bad mood. "Gabriel, are you crazy? Why are you calling so much? Don’t you know I’m exhausted? You woke me up. I couldn’t sleep."

I wasn’t in the mood to discuss the fact that it was four in the afternoon and why she was still exhausted.

I yelled directly, "Manuela, my mom had a heart attack and is in the hospital. You have to go to the hospital and sign the papers. I’m booking the fastest flight back right now."
