A blinding flash of lightning pierced the darkness, illuminating shadowy movements within an abandoned chemical plant.

Two disfigured corpses were efficiently unearthed by Aaron and laid on the grimy ground.

Ethan took over.

He put on his gloves, produced his scalpel, and his gaze lingered on one of the bodies for an extended moment, his brow furrowing slightly as if in deep thought.

"Ethan, what are you spacing out for? Olivia's waiting for us to save her."

At his brother's words, Ethan hesitated no longer.

He was a seasoned forensic pathologist, his movements practiced and precise.

The fingerprints were quickly eradicated.

Aaron swiftly handed him a pre-prepared glass bottle.

It was filled to the brim with sulfuric acid.

Just as he was about to pour it, Aaron suddenly stopped him.

He hastily bent down, scrutinizing a red mark exposed near the collarbone of the other female corpse. As if struck by a realization, he frantically pulled back the rest of the collar.

There lay a large, festering wound, devoid of any intact flesh.

Aaron clicked his tongue and took a couple of steps back. "It's nothing. Let's do it."

Emma and I, our souls hovering above, exchanged a bitter smile as we watched their proficient and synchronized actions.

This was a sign of his anger.

Who would have thought that the city's most renowned forensic pathologist, known for his aloof composure and unwavering emotional stability, could be so easily undone by a few of Olivia's tears?

He was angry, but he dared not unleash his rage, fearing it might provoke the kidnapper.

"Do as I say. Go to the location I sent you, destroy all the evidence, and help us get away scot-free. Otherwise, I'll have my fun with your little sweetheart and dump her body. Maybe in the sewer, maybe in the trash, or maybe she'll be the next corpse on Mr. Forensic Pathologist's dissecting table."

"No, Ethan, I don't want to be dissected. Save me, I don't want to die, I'm so scared."

The video cut off, Olivia's hoarse, desperate pleas shattering their last vestiges of reason.

A message followed close behind on their phones. The kidnapper demanded the destruction of all incriminating evidence on Emma and me. If the police found even a shred of evidence, Olivia's limbs would be severed.
