Only then did I recognize that handsome man. He was the one who had been picked up from the island by nearly a dozen helicopters.

He met my gaze and raised an eyebrow, the corners of his lips curling into an amused smile.

After Noah returned, he sensed that something was off with me, so he followed my gaze. He froze for a moment before frowning.

“Julianne?” he asked.

Before I could say anything, he stood up and walked toward Julianne and that man. Realizing what he was about to do, I quickly got up and grabbed his arm.

On the island, aside from investigating the housekeeper, I had also looked into the man who was escorted away by the helicopters. Although I hadn’t discovered much useful information, I got to know his identity.

He was a prominent figure in Redwood and had assets more than a hundred billion, someone we couldn’t afford to have direct conflict with.

Yet Noah didn’t stop walking toward them. Instead, he took my arm, leading me toward them.

I looked up at him, about to say something, when I heard him call out, “Hi, Uncle Will.”
