When Agatha’s beloved son, Timothy, had abruptly passed away, she had been in so much anguish that she didn’t even want to continue living.

Irvin couldn’t be bothered to keep up the act of being paralyzed, given the situation. Hurriedly scooping Grace into his arms, he sprinted out of the ballroom with her.

Everyone was stunned by what they saw.

After instructing the Hardwells staff to follow Irvin and Grace, Agatha stalked up to me.

She looked as though she wanted nothing more than to kill me right there and then. But with her precious grandson’s life still hanging in the balance, she didn’t have the energy or the time to deal with me.

Instead, she ordered the Hardwell family’s security team to seize me with a wave of her hand. Then, Agatha hurried after Irvin

and Grace.

My mind had already blanked from shock, so I was only even more disoriented from her slap.

The Hardwells‘ bodyguards were about to move in and grab me when a woman blocked their path. She was the party’s hostess and Hugh Rudford’s mother.

“Ms. Quill is our family’s honored guest. What happened just now was just an accident, so please, stand down,” Mrs Rudførd calmly said.

The head of security’s face darkened immediately upon hearing this. “Mrs. Rudford, this woman has injured Mrs. Hardwell, so we must take her into our custody. If you insist on obstructing us, then don’t blame us for using force!”
