Just then, a few people walked out of the hall. At the lead was an elderly man with white hair.

Upon seeing me, the elderly man’s stern expression morphed into smile. “Emilia! You’re here!”

I returned the smile and walked up to greet him, “Hello, Professor Weiss.”

I had met several influential figures during the Global Technology Forum in Lestoria. Among them, I had gotten along best with this man, Professor Richard Weiss.

After exchanging pleasantries, Professor Weiss turned to Mitchell and asked, “Who is this man? What gives him the right to bar you from attending the conference and call you an academic fraud?”

Professor Weiss was the biggest name in the physics field. He was someone everyone respected and dared not offend.

Hearing this, Mitchell quickly explained, “It was a misunderstanding! It was all because of a misunderstanding!”

Even though Grace had vouched for me earlier, Mitchell still had doubts. But now, with Professor Weiss speaking up for me, he didn’t dare doubt me anymore.

Professor Weiss gave Mitchell a cold look. “Since it’s a misunderstanding, you should apologize to the beautiful Ms. Quill! She’s a scholar we specifically invited to this conference!”

While the invitation had been sent to me through my college, the conference organizers had specifically requested that I attend.

Mitchell’s face became gloomy upon hearing Professor Weiss demand that he apologize to me. But considering Professor Weiss authority and status, Mitchell turned to me and said, “I apologize, Ms. Quill, for the misunderstanding.”

I smiled at him. “It’s alright. Just don’t believe everything you hear next time, Mr. Slate. It’ll save you some trouble.”

With that, I followed Professor Weiss into the hall and didn’t spare Mitchell, Irvin, or Grace another glance.

Emma stood frozen in shock, still trying to process the sudden turn of events. But when she saw me walking away, she quickly collected herself and hurried after me.
