Whenever Grace had an appointment with William, she would usually arrive 15 minutes earlier at the agreed location. William, on the other hand, would always arrive exactly on time.

This time, she arrived 15 minutes early, as usual, only to find him already waiting for her.

Grace instantly had a bad feeling about it. After all, if something smelled fishy, it probably was. Still, she didn’t let anything show and sat down with a warm smile.

“Is there anything you would like to eat, Mr. Ashford?” she asked.

As she spoke, she opened the menu the waiter had handed her. William gestured for the waiter to leave first. Then, he leveled her with a piercing and cold gaze.

Grace’s heart missed a beat. Before she could even ask William what was going on, he slid his phone toward her.

A video was playing on the screen. It was the footage from the VIP airport lounge that she had her assistant record. Although Grace hadn’t appeared in the video, William knew she was the one behind the recording.

Since he had already confronted her with the video, she knew it was pointless to deny her involvement. Besides, when she had done it, she had already expected William would find out about it eventually. So, she had never planned on denying it.

Grace didn’t try to make any excuses and instead outright said, “The Charters wanted information on Emilia Quill. She and I are at odds with each other. So, naturally, I shared the most unflattering video I could find of her.”

Before William could say anything, she added, “I’ve also shared a copy with Mr. Hull Senior. No one has ever dared to lay a hand on me, after all. And I couldn’t let it slide that Emilia Quill had done so. So, naturally, I wanted to get back at her. But I didn’t violate our prior agreement, did I?”

Some time ago, Grace had promised William she wouldn’t do anything that would physically harm me.

His gaze grew colder. “I’m sure you’re aware the Charters tried to assassinate Emilia Quill.”

Grace was, but she replied, “I apologize for that, but it wasn’t my intention. I had no idea Ms. Charter would go that far. I also sent the video to Mr. Hull Senior. He didn’t take drastic measures too, did he?”

She spoke plainly and with such composure that it was impossible to tell she had truly wanted to send me to my grave.

That being said, William wasn’t just anyone. Despite Grace’s apparent openness, he could tell she knew Ms. Charter was someone who would go to extreme lengths. That was why she had sent the video to the young woman.

However, he remembered he owed her his life. So, he said, “This is your final warning, Grace. Don’t let me find out you’ve again done something to harm her. If I do, all bets are off!”

As William glared at her, he once again couldn’t help but feel suspicious of her and that something wasn’t right.

Grace was vicious and merciless. No matter what, she didn’t seem like someone who would risk her life to save someone else’s. So, how could the warm and kind saviour he remembered be someone like her?

The more he dwelt on it, the harder it became for him to accept this.

William could no longer stand to look at her. Making this known, he stood up and left. He didn’t bother to discuss the project they were meeting for, nor did he want to anymore.

Given the situation, Grace knew he wouldn’t turn back even if she called out to him. So, she could only watch him leave.

Once William was gone, Grace’s closest aide couldn’t help but ask, “What about the contract, Mrs. Hardwell?”

Grace rubbed her temples. “We’ll discuss it next time.”

“But Mr. Hardwell Senior values this project highly,” her aide replied. “If we can’t secure the collaboration, I’m afraid he will-”
