Once the woman passed out, I immediately crawled over to her. I wanted to look for my phone so I could call the police. However, I discovered she had smashed my phone, and I couldn’t even turn it on.
I then searched for the woman’s phone. But it wasn’t biometric–enabled, so I couldn’t unlock it.
With no way to contact the police, I had no choice but to escape as fast as I could. With no strength to stand, I crawled out of the room. Regardless of whether they would come after me again, I had to survive this attempt first.
When I finally made it to the door, I braced myself against the wall to stand. Then, I began walking out. However, I didn’t head downstairs or yell for help. Instead, I entered the elevator and headed up to the top floor.
Though my head had cleared a little, and I could move again, I still wasn’t in good shape. I could walk, but only by keeping one hand against the wall for support.
If I yelled for help and attracted the attention of the wrong people members of the crime organization–there went my chances of survival. Heading to the top floor was my best shot.
I owned this building, so I knew its layout. Currently, I was in Tower B, which had been leased to a five–star hotel. The first floor served as the banquet hall, and the upper floors were all hotel rooms.
The government had locked down this entire tower for the event. So, any guests who stayed behind would be sleeping here. Meanwhile, Tower A was the office building of one of my subsidiary companies.
At the top floor of Tower B, there was a secret, hidden passage that only the company’s top executives knew about. This passage connected directly to Tower A. If I successfully got to the top floor of Tower A through this passage, I would be safe.
Staggering through the hidden passage, I managed to get to my intended destination without incident. Once I closed the door, I exhaled in relief. Then, I leaned against the wall and slumped to the floor.
After a short rest, I used the wall to push myself back up. To be safe I made my way to the lounge. There was a phone there, and I could call for help. Only once help arrived would I finally feel at ease.
Upon reaching the lounge, I was about to turn on the lights. However, a tall, dark figure suddenly lunged at me.
My eyes widened in shock, and before I could react, I had been tackled to the ground. In the next instant, a familiar scent filled my lungs.
Once again, I was shocked and instinctively looked up. From the moonlight streaming through the window, I met Irvin’s dazed
eyes.
“Irvin?” I said.
I had no idea why he was here or why he was in such a state.
“Emi… My wife…” Irvin mumbled. Even though he was out of his mind, he still recognized my familiar scent.
The drug Grace had given him was burning through his veins and making him feel like he was on fire. So, when he realized it was me, Irvin didn’t hold back. Lowering his head, he pressed his lips against mine.
I reflexively tried to push his face away, but I barely had any strength left. I couldn’t push his six–foot body off me.
All I could do was lie there and allow Irvin’s lips to roam all over my body. His frenzied movements told me he had been drugged during the networking dinner and had escaped here.
Irvin had given me this subsidiary company. Additionally, he had built this building after his business had taken off.
The hidden passage connecting the two towers was something he specifically requested from the architect. As for this lounge on the top floor, Irvin used to stay here whenever he was too busy to go home.
