As the door was pulled open, Garrett’s face, filled with extreme anxiety, came into view, with a hint of intriguing expression flickering in his eyes. 

“Who are you?” 

Garrell’s 

mind and eyes were filled with only one thing finding Ruth. He didn’t even bother to look at anyone and was about to barge into the living room. 

“Make way!” 

Watching his impatient movements, Liam held a fruit knife in his hand, wiped his eyes with it, and crossed in front of him, blocking his way. 

“This is a private residence, if you insist on breaking in, you will have to bear the consequences.” 

Seeing the sharp blade in between, Garrett finally regained some sanity. 

He took two steps back, lifted his incredibly gloomy eyes, and spoke with a hidden anger in his tone. 

“This is my house! You are the one who trespassed into the residence, right? Who are you?” 

This question really struck a chord with Liam. 

He curved a shallow smile at the corner of his mouth, with a pleasant expression on his face as if bathed in the spring breeze. 

“This was my fiancée’s home.” 

Upon hearing these words, Garrett was completely stunned. 

He lifted his head and glanced at the door number on the wall, then looked at the person in front of him. It was only then that he realized he seemed to have seen this person somewhere before. 

Before going to Us 

to Ustor, she had promised him that she would go back with him to meet his family. 

When the car drove into the villa area in the heart of Pondbourne’s central district, Ruth remained 

silent. 

She turned her head and stared at Liam. Her tone melancholic. 

“The Huynh family in Pondbourne, is this what you call an ordinary family background?” 

“Isn’t it unusual? Could it be a misconception that arose from my parents teaching me to be humble and self–reflective since childhood?” 

Upon hearing this almost flawless answer, Ruth realized for the first time that Liam was such a 

smooth talker. 

She was about to say a few words to him when the car stopped. 

She looked at the dozen or so people waiting at the door, and a sense of shock uncontrollably surged in her usually calm eyes. 

Isn’t it enough to just see family members? 

How did so many people come? 

She hadn’t even realized it yet when Liam opened the car door, pulled her out of the car, and started introducing himself. 

“Hello everyone, this was my fiancée, Ruth.” 

“Ruth, this was my father, mother, older brother, and that was my aunt, uncle…” 

Ruth dared not to lift her head too high when introduced to them one by one, 

Although she had heard of the Huynh family, she never had the opportunity to interact with them, 

whether it was at her parents‘ house or after marrying Garrett. 

Liam’s older brother, the one who was known as the Iceberg and the leader of the Huynh Group, she

After enduring the small talk, she finally managed to catch a break by using the excuse of going to the restroom. However, as she was leaving, she bumped into Eddie Huynh 

He seemed to be waiting for her specifically, as he extended his right hand towards her with a cold look in his eyes. 

“I just greeted you hastily earlier, and now I am deliberately making up for it. I wonder if I should address you as Ms. Krause or Mrs. Todd?” 

One sentence froze the smile that Ruth had just lifted on her lips. 

But she quickly calmed down and held his icy hand, answering confidently. 

“Ms. Krause, my marriage with Garrett has come to a complete end.” 

“Just finished, and already together with Liam, and engaged?” 

His extremely oppressive questioning made Ruth’s scalp tingle. 

Her mind was spinning rapidly, trying to find a reasonable explanation. 

No matter how I phrase it, it sounds strange and not serious when spoken out. 

After thinking and thinking, she felt that no matter how she said it, it wouldn’t be appropriate, so she decided to be honest and speak her mind. 

“I met Liam before I got divorced, so it can be considered as an affair during my marriage, but I don’t regret anything I did.” 

Seeing her so candid, a hint of surprise flickered across Eddie’s usually expressionless face. 

He nodded and continued to ask. 

“Liam is much younger than you.” 

He seemed to be five years old.
