Chapter 296 

“Alex. I only called you because I had no other choice. Ellie should not be Orion’s primary doctor. 

“Orion has been here for four months already, and not only has he not improved, but he’s gotten worse Quinler, dressed provocatively, was badmouthing Ellie as she led Alex into the hospital room. 

Outside, Nancy said, I need to see which vixen dares to seduce my son.” 

Next, Vette guided Nancy to the doorway of the hospital room. “Mrs. Warren, remember, I work here, so please don’t mention that I told you anything I can’t go in. It’s better if you see for yourself. 

Ellie and Linda were hiding at a distance when they soon heard Quinler’s shrill screams echoing from the hospital room 

“Dr. Thompson.” Yvette, hearing the unmistakable sounds of someone getting slapped repeatedly, quickly ran over to Ellie. 

“Til handle this. You go downstairs and wait for her.” Ellie pointed towards the elevator, and Yvette hurriedly left the scene. 

Inside the room. Nancy had a tight grip on Quinler’s hair, slapping her continuously while yelling, “My eldest son dies, and you try to seduce my youngest? 

“I may have raised a delinquent son, but even he’s got more decency than the daughters your Janssen family produces. Ever

Alex watched his mom go full throttle, laying into Quinlee with increasingly enthusiastic slaps. He rubbed his nose and stepped back to avoid the 

Quinlee was in shock from Nancy’s relentless slapping. She had gone through a lot of trouble to use Orion to trick Alex into coming here and then had Yvette bring Nancy to the hospital 

Her plan was to use Ellie to show Nancy that Orion was still alive and right in that very hospital room. 

But to her dismay, when she brought Alex, Orion wasn’t in the room. And on top of that Nancy now thought she was trying to seduce Alex 

“Mrs. Warren, this is a misunderstanding. Im Orion’s fiancee–why would I seduce Alex” Quinlee tried to explain, dodging the attacks, but Nancy wasn’t hearing it.

Nancy stormed out of the hospital room, cursing under her breath. Ellie tried to hide but was still noticed by Alex. 

Alex turned back and gave Ellie a meaningful glance before following his mom into the elevator. 

After Nancy and Alex left, Ellie and Linda leisurely stepped out of their hiding spot. 

Seeing Quinler stumble out of the hospital room w 

with her hair disheveled, half her face swollen from the slaps, eyes bruised, and lips bleeding.. Ellie couldn’t help but smirk.

“I don’t have telepathy. How would I know you’d come over with Mr. Warren at this particular time?” Ellie feigned innocence as she slowly approached Quinder. 

Leaning in slightly, she lowered her voice. “I warned your not to provoke me, but you just couldn’t stay out of trouble” 

“Your Quinter pushied Ellie with force. 

She raised her hand mid–air, glancing between Ellie and Linda before reluctantly putting it down. “You’ll pay for this!” Quinler muttered, stumbling 

Fulie dusted off her hands and straightened up. With this incident, Quinler was unlikely in go seeking praise from Alex’s parents anytime soon

Chapter 296 

“Linda, go to the MRI department and 

Orion back to his room, Ellie instructed before entering the hospital room to clean up the mess. 

“Enjoyed the show!” Alex’s voice suddenly sounded from behind, startling Ellie so much that she dropped the cushion she had just picked up. 

“What are you doing back here!” Ellie hadn’t expected Alex to return and felt a momentary pang of guilt. 

Alex bent down and picked up the cushion, leaning in close to Ellie. He pointed to his overly handsome profile, “Check if my mom slapped my face 

swollen.” 

Ellie took a step back and looked at Alex’s reddened ear and check. “It’s not swollen.” 

“It hurts so much. Can you see if there’s anything broken” Alex leaned in again. 

Ellie dodged. “Nothing’s broken.” 

“My lip hurts too. Do you think it’s infected?” Alex pointed to his lower lip that Ellie had bitten earlier. 

“Mr. Warren Ellie’s tone turned cold and her expression hardened. 

“Where’s Orion?” Alex abruptly changed the topic, hugging the cushion and sitting obediently on the sofa. 

“He is in MRI for a check–up. It might take a while longer. Mr. Warren, please wait here for a moment, and I’ll go bring him back.” Ellie wanted to avoid being alone with Alex and found an excuse to leave. 

But just as she was about to go, Linda pushed Orion’s wheelchair into the room. 

Linda said. “Watching that woman g get slapped half to death was so satisfying! Next time, Dr. Thompson, you’ve got to let me know when something like this happens. 

“You really have a knack for timing! You told me to go get Orion, um, uh… 

As Linda handed Ellie the examination form, she finally noticed that someone was still sitting on the sofa in the waiting area. Realizing this, she quickly fell silent and wheeled Orion’s chair into the hospital room. 

“Dr. Thompson, care to explain how you timed that so perfectly? Alex slowly stood up and walked over to Ellie, his tone teasing and playful. 

“Uh, Mr. Warren, your brother is still inside waiting for you,” Ellie said, her toes digging into the floor awkwardly as she pushed past Alex and turned to leave. 

Alex’s gaze lingered on Ellie’s retreating figure, and he couldn’t help but raise an eyebrow 

Just then, Linda came out of the hospital room. Alex stopped her. “Got a question for you? 

Linda blinked her big, bright eyes. “What’s up?” 

Alex asked, “Does Dr. Thompson have a… significant other in this hospital!” 

Hearing the playful tone in Alex’s voice, Linda got a bit annoyed. “Mr. Warren, what nonsense are you talking about? Dr. Thompson is the mos dignified and self–respecting gid I’ve ever met.” 

Alex chuckled, “A girl… who’s also a mom?” 

Linda defensively stood up for Ellie. “Every girl has encountered jerks in their youth 

“So even a sweet pretty woman like her can still get 

get hurt. Some people are just monsters,” Alex mumbled, turning and walking into the hospital
